Bonnet Stripes
Well, maybe most.
The ones on my early 04 are about 41/2 years old and they look great. I does depend on how they are cared for and exposed to. Like most things, your mileage may vary.

Be careful running off and treating them like paint. It depends on what kind and who made them. If they are OEM and have black on them forget about polishing as it will come off. If they are white then you are good to go. Even the stripes that Mike sold with the black pins on a white back ground are prone to fading if you polish the black part. Tape the pins off.
And may I add that if your car is going to spend a lot of time parked out in the sun, you should be diligent about keeping the car well-sealed with a good wax/sealant that has uv protection. Otherwise, when your stripes do have to come off for some reason you may have a distinct color difference between the striped part and the rest of the bonnet.

May I add that it's good to tape the edges no matter what the color ? I can ? Thanks.
That's because if you use a buffer on them, the rotation of the pad against the edge of the vinyl can lift it up, even if not noticeable with the naked (or clothed) eye. Then, tiny particles can get in under there and then you start having issues.
Don't risk it... tape the edges.
