When to use Swirl
When to use Swirl
My MCSC is just about to turn 3 years old. I have used Amigo once (in February) but never polished. I don't see any micromarring even in direct sun. What should I be looking at to see if I need to do Swirl with my next full detail? Should I just do it anyway just in case?

if you can't visually see the swirls dont use Swirl!
i dont always polish
my cars when i wax because they dont need to be.
kinda like claying. i dont remember when i did a full clay job. spot
claying is enough for my cars.

The general rule of thumb when it comes to how to use polishes and swirl removers is to work from the least aggressive to more aggressive as needed to get to the results you want. This is done by using different products/pads.If Amigo works, don't use Swirl, just cause.
I don't use Swirl on the whole car, just areas that Amigo alone doesn't get the results I want.

When to use Swirl? Based on my experience of the past day, I'd say within 24 hours of getting service at the dealer

:mad :

I had Jester in for a long overdue (IMHO) oil change yesterday. Since I'm going on an outing this afternoon, I told myself, "well, how much can they do the the paint in one washing?" rather than telling them not to wash it like I normally do. GRRRRR. I got it in the sun and had marks running all across the car - especially on the bonnet. So instead of taking an hour for a quick once over with Mystique and Hydro, I'm up at that crack of dawn this morning with Swirl, Finish, Epic and my trusty PC. Took me a couple hours to get the bonnet under control.
At least it gave me the excuse to go after the last residue of the Slick-proof, Mystique-proof, Hydro-proof and Swirl-by-hand-proof seagull crap from last month

Fool68, feel you pain with the DISO. When I had mine in to the dealer last week I made sure to tell them "NO WASH". When I started to walk around the lot I was certainly glad. Nothing worse than a $100,00 BMW M6 with swirls in the black paint you can see from the International Space Station. I went back and reinterated - NOOOOO WAAAAASSSSShh!
swirl
We picked up our AB Sidewailk last thursday and the first time I had it out in the full sun I found out how bad swirls are. Too many to count. Was tempted to take it back to the dealer but afraid it would come back worse. Guess it's time to order some swirl and get to work before MITM3.
