WOW - disappointing!

On the advice of this forum I order some "WOW" for the exterior black plastic trim on my MCS. I found that I had to wipe it 3 times to avoid streaking.

Then I decided to use Turtle Wax "Wet N Black" Tire dressing (on my wife's Clubman exterior black plastic trim) - It works MUCH better. (Tire dressings are mostly Silicone Oil).

My .02 - Save your $10-12 and get the Turtle Wax product instead...

I think you used too much.

If you apply it too heavy, you'll have excess that you'll have to go back and wipe away.

If you apply it in a very thin coat, you'll get a nice, even application.

The good thing about WOW... you won't have to reapply it for months, and that will offset the higher cost vs the competitor's product.

ah yes, blame the tried and true product with countless successes. Could not have possibly been an application error on your part, must have been the product.

Oh, sarcasm from the president. Not too inmpressive.

I am not an amateur at detailing. And I am a national judge of another classic car. I did not apply "too much" Wow.

This is my opinion of "WOW" and I'm sticking to it.

Silicone oil last for months, too.

So you used maybe 4 pea-sized amounts to do the entire car's trim?

You may stick with your opinon, it's wrong, but you may stick with it.
BTW, I'm an expert at scarcasm.

I found it wasn't as easy to apply as some here suggested - you do have to work it in and around to get an even coat. But doing that, it made a HUGE difference on my trim - I ordered some the next day (OG had sent me a tiny sample bottle) and passed on the rest of my sample.

Hey, give the new guy a break. I was that sure of myself 4,500 posts ago, too. Then maybee and others taught me how little I really know. Now I'm blissfully clueless.

And Black WOW rocks the world. As long as you do it right.

No Blimey, it has to be the product. Black WOW is crap - I've read that.

How do you know it's crap? I thought Richard kept the recipe secret!?!

You're gonna get sued.

Though I didn't know a person could eat enough carrots to crap that color.

ok ok, but Hydro works well on plastics to get them nice and
black too... if i was motoring my MCS in the rain i would probably
just use Hydro over the arches. much easier and faster.

Yeah, it does pretty good on the trim. Since you're applying it to the car once a week or so, yeah... might as well hit the trim, too. In fact, it's hard to miss the trim when you're spraying it on the paint.

But the neighbor garages his lawnmower and his cat is not a daily driver - so yeah, Hydro would work.

How do YOU know he doesn't drive his cat daily? Have you actually ASKED the cat?
