Removing bird etching

Got pooped!!

I m going to try Scratch X and then apply Wax (Epic) (Already tried it once, but will try again with new instructions from Meguiars forum)

The question is
- Is there a professional detailer around Towson/Baltimore who can get it out for me using orbital buffer? (At least give it a shot)

I can buy the buffer but don't have a garage to work in :(

Update :

I was able to remove the etching using scratch X .. Used 2 layers of Epic to close the deal :D

However, I m still open to suggestions about detailers around baltimore area. I would like to get the whole car waxed

In the mean time, I will just use Hydro to keep clean

Glad you got it off.
As for detailers, we tend to do things ourselves here on the Detailing Forum which may explain why you have not gotten any recommendations.
So do it yourself, save the cash and get a better job.

why do you need a detailer if you're already using Hydro?

good job on the etching removal!

I got bombed bad

Ordered some Sonus swirl/sratch remover but still cannot get it out. Sad part is that the poop was on there no more than 20 minutes!

It's looking like I will need the pros for this one. Poops was about 3.5 inches long.

Sonus polishes were not great for me. Try Swirl and an orange pad from Detailer's Paradise.

I spent 3 hours in a self service car wash.. to wax the car.. i couldnt get to polish it as i dont have garage :(..

kenchan

I dont use hydro regularly i must have used it twice since october.. (winter makes me lazy ; )) But I m planning to be more regular and use it every time i wash.

Did you try scratchX ? It took 3-4 applications but removed it. Scratch X is great product for beginners like me. Its not harsh. I do end up with some micro swirls.. but thats because I dont have a garage and its almost impossible for me to remove all the small particles. I always wash the area with soap and water but do end up with micro scratches from time to time..
Scratch X minimizes their appearance too.

I also use Scratch X to sand touch up blobs.. but there are couple of blobs on my bumper which would require langka i think ..

I got bombed yesterday again.. and this time it was more than one poop.. What the hell is wrong with these birds.. it looks like i m working in a rain forest. I dont even park under a tree or anything.. today I changed spots to mix my car with other cars .. just in case if they have got the idea that my mini marks the spot

I keep baby wipes in the trunk of my car for those unexpected bombs. The sooner you can get it off the better chance you have of escaping damage. I keep them in a tupperware container so they stay moist. Epic helps protect the paint also.

Okay, so I know I'm nutso, but I have little travel-sized bottles (I think they're 2 or 3 oz each, $1 each at Target in the travel-and-trial-sized-stuff aisle) of Slick, Clarity, and Hydro (also of Nero and Mystique, but doesn't really apply here) along with a couple of pairs of gloves, some paper towels, and a Monster Fluffy and glass MF just for "bombings". The whole thing fits into a little mesh bag that fits behind the side panel in the boot very easily.

Hmm .. i m not sure what is it about my car.. the place i park (no matter where i park.. i have tried numerous places).. my car gets bombed!

I visited my friend in germantown.. and got bombed again..

i was working under tree shade.. to fix some paint chips.. bombed!!

wherever i park in my office parking lot.. bomb!

Luckily each time i removed within 10-20 minutes.. that and may be because i waxed my car 2 weeks ago.. it has helped to avoid damage

but ofcourse, i cant keep up with this stuff.. i stay in a tower.. (luckily i dont get bombed where i park there).. and dont have a garage..

I might consider selling mini and getting a used car.. so i dont have to worry about paint .. its been just a terrible week trying to keep up with this stuff.. and my OCD keeps me from enjoying the car..

Its quite frustrating .. but I m seriously considering selling the car

A car cover might help, lol. ML's solution is excellent as well. All you really need is a cheap MF towel that you don't mind getting poop on, and some quick detailer. I keep this inside of a zip lock bag so that way once I extract the poop, I don't mind throwing the poop covered towel into the boot, lol, or into the trash. =)

I keep soap water and plain water.. couple of towels as well. one to wipe the poop after soaking with soap.. then i use the other towel with plain water to rinse and dry the spot.. i also use hydro to soak the poop if i m at home..

i dont know what the birds are eating.. i think everywhere because its spring time.. people are landscaping and they put all these fertilizer or manure on their grass ..these birds feed on it and then dump it on my mini

PS: If I keep slick or hydro in the back.. will the heat affect it .. since its summer?
