I washed my car this morning.

That's it, nothing else exciting. I know I would feel the love in here, so I had to tell somebody.

Nothing fancy, in between trips to the gym and then off to work, I felt the urge to purge the dirt.

Quickie wash (using wash gooey stuff from DP and Hydro and wonderful bountiful towels, mitts, and applicators from DP), quickie dry, and she looks purrrrty.

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

It is a lovely day, isn't it?

71 degrees, light breeze, bird chirping, and a clean MINI, what's not to like?

I'm jealous! Longing to dewinterize my car. The weather stinks here in the northeast. Rain/snow today, and just plain dank and dreary out there.

Rain here too, and I have a bunch of stuff from DP that I'm itching to try out. Hopefully tomorrow.

Agreed! Sadly for us, this nice temperature won't last too long... soon it will be 100+ and 5am car washes to stay out of the sun...

It must be nice. Water restrictions in my state have really cramped my style. It's just not right. Washing my MINI is one of life's simple pleasures.Enjoy your clean Ride.

Well I polished my car yesterday--didn't have time to wax it yet, and it rained tonight. lol. Yes it's crazy--I can spend 10 to 16 hours working on a customers car and I can barely spend 30 minutes on my own, lol.

Richard,

It's sort of like the old saying that doctors make the worst patients. I could imagine that people who do landscaping have the worst looking yards. Also, remember that what you consider a total mess of a finish is nicer than 99% of the other vehicles on the road.

Nice seeing you at AMVIV!

Haha thanks man. Yes it was definitely nice seeing you too at AMVIV! =)

Btw, funny thing happened the other day--the person shall remain nameless but he attended one of my clinics.

I was at Crevier picking up a replacement arch trim that flew off on my way back from Vegas when I saw a familiar face. The "nameless person" admitted he was at the dealership getting his MINI washed cause it was dirty from the Vegas drive, and he wasn't expecting to see ME there catching him in the act, lol.

Washed my baby yesterday and gave it the Hydro treatment. And I didn't care that it was supposed to rain today. Let it pour. I've got my MINI.

After the Hydro, my oh my That's nice. While putting my license plates on the neighbor said "I like your new car" (pure envy!!!!!), "Yup. Me too." (me = beaming, le motor = gleaming)

No such thing as a "quickie" in my OCDetailers world.

But still... I get that warm and fuzzy feeling from washing a MINI at least once a week.

I usually track (stalk) the weather for days to determine the first chance for my next wash. Looks like tomorrow afternoon might work. If my MINI is clean then all is right with the world...if it's not, things just ain't right!!!

Know what you mean, happened to me as well. Since then I'm careful not to lean over wet parts on the car or the wash mitt

Have to say, CR&PW&JB, that although I was expecting the wash and Hydro job to take, oh, say 30mins - 1 hour, I was still detailing the car 3-1/2 hours later. I guess I'm not into quickies either.

You got it, washing the MINI, like most good things in life, is best when done slowly and thoroughly.
