Sugggestions for daily care by OCD doctor

My wonderful daughter in law just purchased a black BMW 328xi. She is understandably concerned about the skin care of her new baby. I am in the process of purchasing a "kit" of car care products from DP. I am looking for suggestions for that daily removal of any dust, waterspots, etc.
thanks

Slick is DP's daily detailer. And it's name is very accurate.

Daily skin car for her new car:

1) NEVER touch your paint unless it has just been washed, QD'd or is otherwise absolutely clean. Wiping your fingers across dusty paint will introduce swirls.

2) NEVER use automated car washes. Especially the "soft cloth" or "brush" kinds.

3) Get a "California-type" or Microfiber duster - only use it if the car is absolutely dry and only has dust (NOT heavy dirt, mud, or other grit) on it.

4) Likewise - you can Quick Detail (I recommend DP Slick) but only to remove light dust, bird poop, bugs, etc. If the car is truly dirty, only a "wet wash" can remove the dirt without introducing swirls.

5) Should have been #1 - Start off with a GOOD sealant - like DP Epic. Epic applied twice a year, and DP Hydro used when you dry after each wash, will keep an everlasting layer of protection on your paint...

I use a QD for daily cleaning. I know the dusters work, I just don't trust them. Just my take, but lube, and the lifting qualities seem important to me.

As much as I love Slick and how it makes paint look, I'm really opposed to QDing black paint because no matter how careful you are--you will induce swirls in it. However Hydro and Amigo are great complements to keeping it look great.

It's very important she/you wash with the two bucket system and take great care in how you remove the dirt. Avoid abrading the surface at all times. The only time you should be "rubbing" it is when you're soaping it up. To dry, sheet the water off and blot it dry. The other time you might rub the paint is to apply Hydro--but minimize the number of times you do it, to keep the swirls at bay.

Swirls will be inevitable on her car, but you can use products like Hydro to mask them for quite awhile before having to physically remove them with a buffer.

Epic makes black paint look dripping wet gorgeous. Use Swirl and Amigo to polish. BMW paint is soft enough to be polished with a random orbital polisher--aka the PC and the Prima system.

i agree with OG regarding QD'ing a daily driver especially black cars.

QD is imho best for hobby cars that only see light dust. for daily drivers,
just wash the car and protect with Prima Hydro (wax as you dry). it is by
far the bestest product out of them all. very easy to use.
