Yup, I wet sand when I get bored. :D My CF lip is a bit pitted dull. I also filled in some small pits. I started to with 1000 grit, then on to 1500 and finished with 2000. Finally I polished it out with Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish:

Very pitted and dull:

Wet Sand:

One pass with Blackfire:

After 4 passes:

Very nice. I don't mean to belittle what appears to be a fine product, but I already have all the Prima polishes. Which one, Finish or Amigo, would be the equivalent to BlackFire?

I would not be able to answer that one, I've never used Prima. Blackfire is almost a replica of Menzerna. It's was developed along with Mercedes Benz for newer hader clear coats post 2005 I believe.

The winds of change are blowing in automotive clear coat technology. In 2005, Mercedes Benz started using a nano, ceramic particle, clear coat and in 2006 domestic automakers will start using a super-hard, scratch-resistant clear coat developed by both PPG and BASF.
These new clear coats are scratch-resistant, not scratch proof. They can still be scratched and spotted. The problem is polishing, or removing defects in these new, super-hard clear coats. Conventional polishes may not have the cutting power to remove swirls, spots and defects in these new coatings. To our knowledge, no domestic polish manufacturer has developed a polish that is approved at the OEM level for use on these super-hard, scratch-resistant clear coats.
In 2005, we approached Menzerna of Germany and asked them to create a state-of-the-art, ceramic clear coat polishes for the enthusiast aftermarket. Menzerna, working with Mercedes Benz, developed a compound and polish to remove defects in the new nano, ceramic particle clear coats. These polishes are currently used at the OEM level in various auto manufacturing plants world wide and are considered within the polishing industry to be the most advanced polishes in the world.

I haven't used BlackFire, but I would guess that neither Finish nor Amigo would be similar. To remove 2000 grit sanding marks, you would be using something like Swirl with an Orange or Yellow Pad or even more likely Cut with a Yellow or Orange Pad.

Good job on polishing the CF. People should be aware that sanding and polishing CF is different from polishing paint--in that you aren't working with a microscopic layer of clear coat--you can sand out and restore CF much easier.
