First Use of PC

I'm about to use my new PC 7336SP for the first time. I have read a lot of the info here about polishers and the user instructions.

Any glaring warnings for first time user??? I'm a little aprehensive about placing this machine against my car.

Actually I plan to use it on my son's black Subaru Legacy first - 3 years old and in dire need of polishing. Plan to clay first then Amigo and Epic. What speed (1-6) would I use for Amigo and Epic? Planning to use the Orange or White pad for Amigo and Black for Epic as per DP's instructions.

Hey Pam- I hope you're not planning on using your new PC this this weekend because what you really need to do before anything is pickup (or borrow) the DVD, "How to use the PC for showcar results". It's usually available at the showcardetailing.com store. (It used to be available on the NAM Store but by joe, where'd the NAM Store go?!)

There are many many links within the Deatiling 101 forum that will get your confidence up as well before you take the leap.

Good luck with that! I hates me a dirty MINI! (lol)

Agreed - the DVD is definitely worth the money - polishing is a hard thing to describe, but easy to understand once you watch someone who knows what they're doing do it - while they explain why they do it that way. Like you, I was apprehensive about this before I watched the DVD. Now, no worries. All makes sense and you know what to watch out for, why you might want to tape off parts of the car first, how long to work each spot and why, etc.

I agree about the video---cause--well I made it! But the thousands of customers who've bought it would also give you the same advice.

The only thing I would add is-- why are you using Amigo on a 3 year old car??? Especially with an Orange pad??? DP told you that?? Hmmm, unless they know something that I don't, I think Amigo is going to be way too fine on a "3 year old car thats in dire need of polishing"--especially being BLACK!

You should have a bottle of Swirl, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, then by all means, get the video and learn about why you should use the right polish for the job!

Find the video on my site here

Thanks to all... I think you are right on all accounts. I shouldn't use the PC until I get the video. I've never watched it in use - guess that's why I'm so apprehensive. Will order it tonight. I was also thinking I should have some Swirl. When I was in Denver at DP Heather helped me and I described by son's car (inaccurately - I thought it was in better condition) and she recommended Amigo and Hydro. When I gave my son the products and looked at his car from a detailing standpoint I was thinking it might need a little stronger stuff (and you just confirmed it). Just dropped another bundle at DP but guess I need Swirl too - hope this will take care of car detailing expense for a while.

Thanks again.

Thanks Pam, I got your order!

In case you weren't aware, I have the Prima products in stock as well--I'm their dealer in California, but I ship all over just like DP does.

Can I go back to your site and get Swirl added to my order to ship with the DVD - it will be added postage but not as much as two posts.

Yep. If you want, I can cancel the first order, if you want to submit a new one. Or I can add it to the order and give you the adjusted postage. Doing a new order is simpler though.

Yeah, but Heather can set you up for automatic payroll deduction every month, just like your 401k... it's a great service...

jk - OG deserves the business, too.
