scratch-x is a mild polish. use a foam applicator and some
minor elbow grease. Hydro afterwards. some might
say use clay. clay might work, but might not be available
locally at all times.
For those of you that have pin stripes on the edges of your main stripe, be careful. The pins are usually printed on to your stripe and will rub off or lighten. I would suggest you use some blue painters tape and cover the pin. Then you can go at them as kenchan suggests. If you have a PC you can polish the stripes as well. For stubborn spots you can soak a paper towel with vinegar and treat the spots. This will also remove any wax so you will need to reapply.
My white stripes looked like crap & no amount of claying or washing would help. I used that Meguiar's M80 Speed Glaze with the PC on my stripes. The M80 was not aggressive enough to improve my paint finish but it did absolutely no damage to my stripes (including the black edges) & it made my stripes look like they were brand new
My stripes are printed...and I discovered the last time I polished that the printed ones can only take so much. So now not only do they look like crap, but I burned a tiny spot in one through to the background color.
I did try some BW on a piece of vinyl on my POS rental...it made THAT vinyl look better so maybe I'll try that next. Not sure what else to do, except to switch from printed stripes to regular, but then I can't have the chrome pinstripe and that bothers me.
