OMG I'm Hot. And tired...
The combination of continuous 100 degree days for the last two months, and the fact that using Hydro every wash has made my first Epic treatment last FOREVER... has lured me into complacency... and I've delayed my big detail for months...
Well, I was just gonna clean the interior and wash today - but once I got started, I couldn't stop. I moved into the garage (NOT air conditioned, but shady) and did my wash in there. Then I found a spot on one painted interior door panel that was scuffed, so I got out the PC, and one thing let to another, and I ended up doing:
Full interior vacuum including all nooks and crannies
Shake out cocomats
Clean/condition leather with Griot's Leathercare
Prima Nero all interior plastic/vinyl
Prima Swirl/PC on interior door panel blemish
Prima Amigo (by hand) painted dash and interior door panels
Prima Epic (by hand) painted dash and door panels
Prima Clarity all internal glass/chrome/gauges
Vacuum ragtop & cabrio wind deflector
Vacuum bugs outta radiator and intercooler
303 fabric treatment on wind deflector (yuck - it was NASTY)
Prima Mystique wash including wheel detail, door and tailgate crevices
Clay entire car
Swirl/PC tailgate & rear bumper (the only really swirly part of the car)
Amigo/PC the whole car
Epic - around trim and tight spots with Paradise Skinny - rest with PC
Black Wow trim
Meguiar's Endurance Gel on tires
Wipe down trim and tires with about 1000 paper towels
Clarity exterior glass
6 hours later, it's 99 degrees, I've sweated about 2 gallons, I've drank at least a gallon of water, I've been through 3 tshirts, and a whole pile of DP towels... but it's done...
While this thread is worthless without pics, I'm too exhausted to take any - I'll let the Epic cure up til tomorrow and then I'll take some and post...
Oh yeah - and Detailer's Paradise / Prima ROCKS... and I'm not a shill, though I'm always ready to compromise my ethics if the right bribe comes along. You listening, Heather?
Though why should she pay for something that she can get for free...
All those products are awesome...
Amigo is amazing stuff. First time I had really used it with the PC on the full car (with white pad). Even before the Epic the car practically GLOWED from the Amigo buff...

lol! yah, good think you drank a lot of water.
so, any picts?

i just got done washing and Hydro-ing my car.... only 85F but
still hot enough... detailing cars is so much work in the summer time
it's crazy. :impatient
hope it cools off soon so i can finally Epic my Legacy for the year.
I WANT to wash Clara but I can't until I get the oil change done and I canNOT get the damn canister back on. So I'm taking a break to gather my sanity and then I'm going back out there.

Did mine today as well. I'm a few miles south of you - where it always seems to be a few degrees warmer ("warmer" is an understatement from what those of us in eastern NC have endured over the past month+).
I bought a 10 x 10 canopy at Walmart - it's just big enough for the car to fit under. It makes washing/detailing it in the sun much more palatable.

I am going to wash and do a thing of Black Wow on it tomorrow. I will also clean the interior. monday I do my wax day. First day using epic
I wont be doing it in the sun however, I will be using someone elses garage for that process.
Yeah, Blimey. Without pics, I have to say that Hogtied worked harder than you ! After all, his car looks FABULOUS. Yours...well...looks like it did the last time you posted pics.

Okay I am done. Hubby's friend rescued me and got the canister back on. So weird, the last time I did it it went back on no problem.
So Clara's got a new engine full o' oil and a bath
I need to vacuum the interior but that's going to have to happen tomorrow cuz now I'm whooped.

MINI should've just designed the motor to use traditional oil filters...

Alright you danged detailing voyeurs.... I'm sore and creaky this morning, but I'm cooler and rested... here are some pics. A few more on my blog.

The boot was the swirly part - see any? I can't...

Sides are nice and shiny and wet...

Interior is nice and clean and conditioned - you'd never know I eat biscuits in there all the time...

And here's the money shot - reflections in the A-panel, reflected in the door... is it a door, or is it a mirror? Awesome...

I'll say it again - Prima Swirl + Amigo + Epic ROCKS....
And Black Wow and Prima Nero and and Griot's Leathercare and Prima Clarity are most excellent, also...

W
THAT'S SHINY !!!!
That's as much reflection as one could possibly get out of Cool Blue !!!
That IS Cool Blue, right.... or is that some MINI color that was top secret and only available to someone who has 54 UJ's or more ? Some color that is highly reflective and glossy. Maybe it's called Union Jack Ultra Glassy Blue ??

Wow - thanks ChiliPepperJet (wow - that's almost a kind of cheese)...Coming from you that means a lot.

Yeah - it looked good after the first Epic treatment early this year - but it never looked like this.... the polish made a HUGE difference...
Cool Blue is a really interesting color - chameleonesque - and when it's this glossy, it's really wierd - cause if you're looking at it from one of the reflective angles, you can't really tell what color it is... blue? gray? purple? ???
Yep, it's a very "cool" color (pun intended).
When we were shopping for an S Convertible, we had ruled out the blue colors. But when we saw a CB in person, we put it on the list because it does have some very interesting characteristics and changing shades with the way the light hits it is one of them.
Now... clean up that parcel shelf... it's looking cluttered !

Great pics!!!
Lots of work
and SWEAT
went into all that detailing.
I tried to use the Sony camera outside yesterday to get a pic of a neat looking Writing spider and all I got was an extreme fogged lens.
DH painted my brake calipers in the heat yesterday. Got to love him for that.

Well, scrap the idea for pics for today. Ha...
I wanted to go motoring and take photos at interesting sites along the way. And I went motoring, alright. I took a backroad I'd never been on over the mountain (Mt. Madonna Rd, for the locals). Someone had told me it has a "little stretch of gravel near the top". So, okay. Except that it's gravel like 1/4 of the way in, all the way to the top. And buuuumpy.
But we tore that s*** up, me and Clara. We offroaded like champs and left SUVs in our wake. However, we are also now covered in a fine layer of dust
Yes, we. I had the windows down and sunroof open the whole time.
Good thing I have a few hours of daylight left...
