Or what you mix it with. Okay, here is the point: The fact that you use 11 different materials just to dry your car indicates an obsessive personality which can either be looked at as extremely amusing (hilarious) or very sad (tragic). I, on the other hand, leave it to the blackened rag in the paws of the car wash guy, which is passed from car wash to car wash. That is, unless I go to one of those automatic wash places, where the vacuum thing at the end picks up the MINI and throws it out the end of the tunnel.

First of all, there is only 8 different materials. 4 different terry cloths, 1 chamois, 3 different MF's. And I only wash my car once a week, unless some severe weather happens or a bird manages to poop on it.

I know you use the car wash. To each his own.

Am I obsessive? A little.

Well, yer not the first person to think I am nuts. You should see my neighbors when I am cleaning my cars. A lot of head shaking and neck rubbin goes on.

Neighbor across the street was commenting on how much effort I put into cleaning my car, when he got interrupted by his Wife, "He does not clean his car, he details it!". Someone got it.

Perhaps LynnEl you would best be served in an other forum. So we care - it is not your place to mock.

now this is inefficient.

the natural way to dry your car should be:

1) MF drying towel in your right hand.
2) Hydro in your left.

I've been using the "California waterblade" for a long time. It used to be on all the T.V. commercials and it really does work wonders for me. Its sometimes hard to get in some of the smaller parts of the car like in back with the letters and in the license plate part. But otherwise I would highly recomend going out and buying one of these.

I dunt(tm) waste a good MF towel for drying the back side of tires, water drainage channels, rubber seals, under the hood, or under the car. You do not have to clean those areas, as you do not drive in bad weather, or you would not use MF towels there either.

And I certainly would not use Hydro on the chassis of the car, or on the engine.

I am old school about the chamois. But I have never had any scratches or swirls induced by my cleaning procedure, so I stick with it. Works for me.

tires, drainage channels, n/crannies, rubber seals, grills, sus area, i use
a blow dryer (ok, a leaf blower ).

chamois is fine if you blot dry but that means you will need to make
another round for applying Hydro if you use it...which imho is a waste
of step, the blot drying that is.

and after drying, i run a dehumidifier in the garage after washing my
MCS or G. the daily drivers can air dry after the towel/blow drying
as far as i care.

Well, some of us do not have the luxury of having a car they can use when they want to. Both my cars are daily drivers and it is all I can afford. So I do what I can to take care of them and keep them looking good.

I do not use Hydro, nor any type of quick detailing sprays. I have never really found a reason to use products like that. I use carnuaba waxes and polymer sealants to protect the paint. I like the look of those types of products.

I do use an air compressor to clear nooks and crannies out. I prefer it as it is filtered with a water separator attached. Too much dust in my area to use a leaf blower.

I am happy you can afford to have daily drivers and cars which you can drive when the weather permits. And I am happy you have a routine which works for you.

Hmmm,...difficulty in maintaining focus,..cold sweats,..uncontrollable shakes,...poor appetite,..

Seems to be a-ok!

She is supposed to arrive Wednesday. That is as far as I can get. My stammering and stuttering is making it difficult to convey anything verbally. Hmmm,..I should add those to the symptoms.

Thanks for inquiring!!

skuzzy- show us picts when you get your R56!

commuters washed, hydro'ed. im still amazed how i dont get any
water stains even when washing in the sun. yes, i washed my car
in the sun (60F) to see slickness of previously applied hydro against
water stains on a black car. washed, rinsed with a steady stream
of water. no water stains... this is Michigan tap water too. no filtration.
i had slight water stains on the sun roof, but hydro just dissolved
it and wiped up clean. no trace.
