So, anybody else up yet? The roads in Alexandria are a bit slushy here and there, but not too bad. Any reports from somebody north of here? Maxicooper, how are things around Columbia?
I think it's time to do some cold weather motoring!

Our stairs and sidewalk are icy in Arlington, but the roads look fine. But Michael and I won't be making it today. Other things around the house need to get done and we rarely have a day off together.

Have fun today!!

I live up here in the heart of today's run, Happy. We got a total of about an inch and a half of snow/ice. West of me and North of me (where we're going) got a little more... 2 to 4 inches.

But, I live in a development tucked back away from the main roads and haven't been out on them yet. By the sounds of the snow plows on and off all night, I'd say the roads we'll be traveling on up here should be mostly clear. They'll be covered with salt and chemicals so our MINIs will be verrrrrrrrrry dirty (very quickly) but the hazzard level should be very low.

The weather will cut back on the number of MINIs, I'm sure, but I hope to see most of you there !!

Ok, so I was in some sort of COMA yesterday...Literally. I went to sleep at 9am and woke up at 6:30 am today! The roads here don't look to bad. We shall see what happens when the summer rubber hits it tho. Got a couple of inches here. We will see you all soon

That is a crazy day of sleep! You must have been really deprived. I had a day like that last week, where earlier in the week I had 3 different 24 hours days in the previous 5, and on day 6 I SLEPT.

The sun is out, the air is crisp, and we are goin' on a MINI run today!! Looks to be a clear day with lots of fun...and so what if our cars get dirty. Sometimes dirty is more fun than clean anyway...

Hey all, sorry about bailing, but the roads were making me nervous with me having summer performance tires (Pirelli Euphori@), and the fact that I'm still in 'learning' mode with driving manual transmission. I just didn't think it was a good idea. That, and Sally wasn't feeling too well this morning... :(

Hope you all had fun, and I'll see y'all next time!

Just got back from doing half the run. (Before lunch) Nice roads, thanks guys for planning this. The new MINI passed 500 miles on the way home, just got washed and is tucked away in the garage! Fun, fun, fun! Great to see people I've met before and run into new folks learning about their MINIs.

FYI, for people living close by with a spare blank DVD, I did get a hold of the 12/2006 MINI/BMW ETK DVD. It's the electronic parts catalog and even has MINI R56 stuff in it. The diagrams are great and really help to see where stuff is. All MINI info from 2002 - 2006 is on there! I'd be glad to share.
Mike

Thanks to everyone who planned, coordinated, and attended the event. This was our first Mini event that we've attended, but it certainly won't be our last! Here are a few photos that we took along the way:

Regroup in Marriottsville before lunch- Those deep hollows don't get much sunlight during this part of the year so it was pretty slushy!

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, seeing some familiar faces or getting to meet some of the new members.

That was a good route. It'll be even better when we can experience it on dry pavement.

Thanks to all who braved the less-than-ideal elements and joined us. See you again soon, I'm sure.

I had a great time.. even though I didn't have my car. Thanks to everyone who helped coordinate and set-up this event!! Hopefully next time MINI-Bee won't be in the shop and I will be able to drive myself.

Thanks Chris for letting me come to your house and ride along with you. I had a blast!
