That is a shame. I see people installing tons of performance mods on cars that never see the track. I'm at VIR 3 or 4 weekends a year. Maybe I will see one or two Minis. We do have one local Mini that makes regular appearances at every NCC driving school at SPR.
I took out my wife's Mini last year on the JC.
What a blast. Almost wanted to get one for myself.
PDX is time trails?
That's going to be risky when it comes to insurance.:impatient

I thought Marshal was going to be there. He was there a couple weeks ago for a test run of the event.
Personally I'm waiting for the Car Guys event later in May. Although I need to get a couple things done before then. Mostly just general maintenance.

The day consists of classroom training along with four 20-minute track sessions of high performance driving on the Shenandoah circuit. The Shenandoah is quite challenging with little time to rest between turns. I found it the closest thing to a high-speed Autocross available at Summit Point Motorsports Park and truly a blast to drive. This circuit is excellent for learning high-speed driving as well as for honing your car control skills in any sort of weather.
there is no timing of laps, and there is no racing, so its an instructional event. most peoples insurance don't have a problem with this.
yeah, pretty much was there all day. i think it was on of the people in the flagging stations car.

That is going to take a lot of explaining to an insurance company if someone needs to make a claim.
Any good instructional training is a good thing. Even if people are having fun driving fast.
They are still sharpening their skills. Get it all out on the track.
I was out there, too, but in my Z06, not my MCS. Blue/yellow group.
Great event. I was afraid the track would be too tight for a Z06, but the car felt right at home.
(Incidentally, the yellow Miata that is parked on the grass is probably a worker's car. It's not really in harm's way in that location.)
Thanks for posting the pics, BTW.
