VW Bug meets Streghina

Saturday morning: beautiful day - top down, mini hat , sunglasses, music.. - perfect day until a VW Bug rear ended me at the stop light.

A very old lady got confused and instead of hitting the brakes she hit the gas and now my Little One - Streghina- has two holes on her bumper.

She will go to Tate as soon as the bodyshop can schedule me in

People will be surprised to hear this: but after the lady and I exchanged info she told the Police Officer that I am a very nice lady

At least 2 things, it was a Bug, similar size, less damage, and it wasn't Gypsy!! Hope she gets fixed soon, glad you're not hurt!

Are you sure she was talking about you? Maybe the police officer was a woman and that's who she was talking about?

You know I'm only willing to make a joke like that because I'm 4,000 miles away!

One way to look at it is the VW Beetle and the Mini share some things in common. They are both very cool, both very safe and both wonderful icons that have been reborn. Sounds like you couldn't have had a nicer person rearend you.

Positive she was talking about me ... either she was confused or I was really nice; the fact is that was impossible to get pissed at an old lady who should be go for walks instead of driving

The funny things she said " I saw you passing me and I though what a cute little car"
I replied "There are other ways to see a MINI upclose and personal "

I am not really pissed just very annoyed because I don't have time to spare and dealing w/ insurance companies is a BIG pain in the neck. Plus, this is the 4th time I have been rear ended. Three times at a red light and one major hit and run (bye bye to my VW Cabrio) on 395 S. Luckly I was never hurt but I am tired of this routine.

I guess Streghina got jealeous of GyPsy who just had a new bumper installed a couple of months ago.

I'll try to take pictures (in my spare time )

Next week I will meet with the adjuster. We are going to meet at TATE directly. The other driver's insurance has USAA so I know they are good (stingy but good) luckly I don't have USAA any longer.

The last time I was rear ended the driver had USAA as well, but he took off and USAA made me file under MY policy instead than going after him. As a result I had to pay a deductible, of course USAA - like every other insurance - looked after itself.. This time it should be easier.
