NEEDED: Event Ideas for this year

Ok everyone, we are coming into the 'down time' of the season, and we are anxiously looking forward to putting the summer tires BACK on! So, here is what we need....Ideas for upcoming events! So start racking your brains and bring us some good runs/meets/events. I would love to see some of your ideas and hope that they can happen!

Of course the monthly breakfasts at the dealerships will continue, every 3rd Saturday morning of the month, they will be posted on the calendar every month to remind you where they will be.
I am hoping that a monthly dinner in different cities in our area will continue to happen.

So here is what I am seeing so far....Manilla is putting together a weekend run. Coopercops is putting together an Almost Heaven (WVa) run. We are thinking about a Pa run (up to Falling Waters) which may be an overnight run as well. There is the Great Ice Cream Run (6/9-6/15), maybe another Backroads n Battlefields, another Minis By the Bay, of course MOTD (Minis on the Dragon: 5/3-5/6), MOT(MINIs On Top in June- but not sure what the dates are).......Seeing as how only The Ice Cream Run, MOT and MOTD have dates, we need to fill in the calendar! So bring some ideas to the Events Table

You might want to put May 20, 2007 (tentative) on your calendar for the Jefferson 500 at Summit Point.
The National Capital Chapter has been hosting a corral and free food with private parking.

I would imagine that next September or October there will be another track day.

We could easily do a scavenger hunt and then a trip across White's Ferry -we did this in 2003.

Definitely want to do this! This one happened before I was around. I heard though that it was all kinds of fun though!

---

I would love to head back to the Family Drive-In in Stephens City! I could run that event (assuming I'm around) when they open back up in the Spring next year. I'm sure I still have that little run we did, too. Ooh, we could have dinner again at the Apple House in Linden, too! Mmm, good stuff. Plus, every time I go to the AH, the back parking lot is almost always unused, leaving plenty of room for a gaggle of MINIs!

We should remember to plug all three parades into the schedule for next year.

Capitol Hill 4th of July
Annapolis 4th of July
Baltimore Columbus Day (I am sure we will be invited by the BMW folks to tag along again next year)

Scavenger Hunt

[quote=Paul!;1201029]Definitely want to do this! This one happened before I was around. I heard though that it was all kinds of fun though!

I already have a couple of scavenger hunts all set up -- they are in Rappahannock/Culpeper counties. A few of you may have partcipated in one of them a couple of years back --- begins and ends in Sperryville , Va. They were fall time events so that people could enjoy the foliage!

I have been setting up scavenger hunts for years. One that I started in Indiana and run up until we moved in 2000 is still going strong and is now run by the "Michiana Brits" car club -"Tea at the Vicarage" has been running since 1993!

I'm not positive... but if your looking forward to a Suitland - NOVA commute, then practicing high speed handling at about 10 to 20 KPH, may be useful!

Any interest in camping? I know a nice campground in PA. I like to go up to Trexlertown PA in spring/summer and go to the outdoor Velodrome, (big banked bicycle race track) and watch the racing Friday nights. Then I do Amish country in Lancaster county on the way back. There's also a pair of train museums, the Pennsylvania RR museum and a toy train museum in the area. Makes a nice weekend. If there's interest I'd be willing to organize that one.

I was part-organizer for a camping trip in the mountains out west. I loved it, but it was actually only a half dozen or so of us that stayed overnight.

Having said that, I think it's a great idea! I'll definitely be there!

I went on one you had a couple of years ago. Lots of fun!!
