I was part-organizer for a camping trip in the mountains out west. I loved it, but it was actually only a half dozen or so of us that stayed overnight.
yeah but the most important person was there with you

How about a simple event like washing the MINIs and having a BBQ?

Parades... how many people would be interested in doing Annapolis Parade on New Years Day?

Any and all ideas are welcome, except perhaps a club trip to Hawai'i for Feedback. My plan is to do the "typical" events that we do, ie; B&B, 4th of July, Monthly Breakfasts, ect. and do new things that maybe were done @ the beginning of the club or haven't been done before.

I like the Bowling idea, that's a great one for the Winter months.

That may be a weekend event. Sounds great though.

Winter tires, because my JCW R105s can't be driven below 40 degrees! So on go the S-Craps with winter tires that can't be driven in summer. And as for speeds? Dunno about other people, but traversing 270/495 (in the am) the average speed is about 15mph!

Eastern State Pen? I would SO LOVE to go scare the crapola aout of myself by going there. I am ready to put in my weekend off for this! I wanna see if I can see the 'ghosts' that they saw on Ghost Hunters!!! Great Idea!!!!

Please also get onto the calendar our annual business meeting in late March or early April 2007. This could be combined with another event, but we will need at least 1.5 hours of meeting time and a location where we can talk and be heard.

I've been harassing John about another tech day. So that'll probably happen again.

I'd like to see the DCMM club go to a professional sporting event. I'd prefer an NFL game, but the tix are expensive and hard to get. So I'm recommending a Major League Baseball game.

Since the stadiums in DC and Baltimore are too close for the majority of club members and wouldn't provide much of a drive, how about a game at the new and beautiful Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia ?? Since there's probably a fair number of Nats' fans in the club, how about one of the games featuring the DC Nationals VS the Phillies ?

Or even Bay Sox... I know it's not 'majors', but between DC and Balt, and from what I've been told inexpensive and fun.

No no, I'm asking how fast does the group go when you guys go on your mini runs.. Just don't know if I'll be able to keep up with all the "modern" performance!! (I talk like I'm a grandpa or something haha)

Yep, Minor League games can be a LOT of fun. They have some crazy promotional days at some of the parks, too. Like... Free Massage Night or Nickel Hot Dog Night.

I prefer a MLB game, but if folks prefer to see a minor league event, I'm game (bad pun intended).

We used to do them as a BMW event. It was actually a lot of fun and you don't need to be a baseball fan to enjoy yourself. Food was pretty good too. Only thing was we had to buy a group of tickets but the good part is if you don't use all the tickets you can use them other days. Pick a night when they do fireworks.

Can one of our longer runs next year be a Motor-A-Thon?

Our last big run we did was in the mountians of nothern WV, western MD, and southern PA. We were taking the mountian roads at about 40-70MPH depending how big the curves were. I don't see why a classic wouldn't be able to keep up with the new MINIs on the twisties.

We drive in a spirited manner, but these are not road races and we always make adjustments for the needs of the group.

The needs of the many, outweight the needs of the few...or the one

I prefer Minor League. The beer/food is cheaper, you can see the players and the game, and you don't have to stand in line for 2 innings. Plus, during the summer, there are fireworks @ the end.

AAH! I am sure you would be able to keep up with all of us. Like Jen said, we don't drive like we are racing, just a bit spirited! But I have seen what those little ones can do! I would LOVE to have a Classic motoring with us!

I was just looking at the Sportlink laying on my dining room floor.... I might be willing to stop hiding if I can get that installed!

Only problem with that is, all the DC/VA people have a nice LONG drive home. And if we went to a night game, they wouldn't get home til 1-2am. And a day game they would have to leave by 9am.
