Only problem with that is, all the DC/VA people have a nice LONG drive home. And if we went to a night game, they wouldn't get home til 1-2am. And a day game they would have to leave by 9am.
I go to Sunday afternoon games for just that reason.
Sounds like a minor league game would be preferred by most members. I'm fine with that.
Hey! Great ideas everyone. I am so happy to see so many minds thinking for one goal, FUN!
So, we have a few months of empty calendar space, and need some good times to fill the long winter! I would love to see someone take on an event or two to fill the months!
Some great ideas have come through this thread and I think that we would love to see some happen! So look at the calendar and make some plans...Let us (me and Jay) know if and when you want to plan an event and we can help you set it up!
I prefer Minor League. The beer/food is cheaper, you can see the players and the game, and you don't have to stand in line for 2 innings. Plus, during the summer, there are fireworks @ the end.
I agree, for many of the same reasons. Besides, there are several minor league teams around here, which means choices when it comes to the direction to head. (I'm hooked on the Potomac Nationals, but mainly because they are only about 3 miles from where I live!)
a scavenger hunt...we chatted about this a little bit before on MSN
Probably Spring

Can't put next year events until 2007 comes. Calendar won't accept events.

If there's interest I'd be willing to organize that one.
Sounds fun. Maybe have a GPS Scavenger Hunt

I will look into this. Whom has the DCMM banner? I think I saw in on Jeremy's car @ the last parade.
I never wanted it, Marina made me keep it. Its in the boot of my MINI...tell me where to bring it, and its yours again
You have three choices - you can drop it off at my house in Arlington VA (PM me for the address) or you can drop if off at my work in Washington DC (Four Seasons Hotel in Georgeown) or you can bring it to the breakfast at MINI of Towson on the 18th and pass it back to me.
Yes we will! Coopercops would like to do that again! And so would I!!!!!
Second, maybe switch the Penn part of the route a little, put some twisties back in up there and forego the memorial this time around (unless they get building the permenant memorial super fast)?
We had some twisties planned in the original run before we added the memorial. We can do it either way (memorial or twisties) in 2007, depending on what the group prefers.
We're also planning a "MINIs - Almost Heaven" run for the spring that will run from Cumberland to Spruce **** WV, tour Seneca Caverns, then back to MD. LOTS of neat roads in this run.
