The guy yesterday told me that when the strip everything out, they will put in some kind of mold deterant (something about the same thing they use in the A/C or something like that) and will spray that under the headliner/carpet!
Okay, now y'all have got me concerned about water leaks and mold. As I'm reading these posts, it reminded me of how, when it rains, I sometimes feel little spurts of water on my feet (when I have flip flops on, I usually drive shoeless, which is usually all summer) AND my hubby has made comments about smelling mold when I turn on the A/C after not having used it in awhile... I'll be checking it out in the A.M. since it rained a fair amount today.
What is the MINI Traveler? Inquiring minds want to know...
Its a joke Stacey coined (I believe) because while Soulfire was in the shop Jay's Honda Element was driven to a MINI event or two and it has MINI stickers on it. And there is an upcoming MINI model called the Traveler/Clubman so it just fit
Also Florence to help with all the posts there is a button next to qoute (the qoutes with the + sign) for multiple qouting.

Florence, don't let these guys give you a hard time. I know it is daunting when you first start posting and it doesn't help when people give you a hard time. Give them a dose of their own medicine and keep smiling

Oh come on now you know I am just trying to tease those with a lower post count then I

Well, to answer your question, Chows, the NTB I went to I called and they said that they have the right equipment. When were were there with the wheel, they DID NOT tell us that they could not do it. I would not have gone there unless they specifically said that they can patch a RF.
They did do a patch from the inside/plug through to the outside, and it was in getting the tire off the wheel where he had trouble, hence damaging the outside rim on the inside of the wheel as well as the outside.
We shall see what comes from this, since we will be discussing this issue with the manager tomorrow. I am not going to stand silent and just let this go. NOT with those wheels! With the S-Lites, I don't care... But with these...I CARE A BUNCH!
We will keep you all posted about the progress.
I'm sorry to hear about Soulfire. Jango let me down for the first time last week... leaking clutch slave cylinder. With your run of luck, I'd recommend taking some time off, pulling Soulfire into a garage and burying your heads under the covers until October.

I'm going to have to hoist up the BS flag on this. Not on that they told you that they had the right equipment, but I'm willing to bet that they *don't* have the right equipment, no matter what they told you. The wrong equipment would chew up a wheel just like you described. It's either that, or the 'tech' that handled SF was an unqualified moron.
If they insist that they have the right equipment, see if you can get the make and model number of what they used. It's a quick check via the internet to find out if the equipment was actually designed to deal with run-flats.
and then are some that are simply obsessive compulsive communicators :impatient

Bad things always happen in 3's. The H2O damage is 1, flat is 2, and wheel damage is 3! So we should be good now.
