[Sun, Sept 10] Union Jack's - Bethesda, MD

So how about Sunday Sept. 10 for a Union Jacks Sunday. Some pool, darts, food, and fun! Also we can celebrate Matt's birthday! Let us say 7ish.

Just post in the thread if you want to come (no RSVP required though) I figured I would call Union Jacks and warn them about us. Also the manager said if we gave him advance warning he would try to block off the parallel spaces in front as Mini Parking only.

http://www.unionjacksbethesda.com for directions and menu.

Just got off the phone with the owner. He says he has no idea as to how they could block off spaces in front w/o getting in trouble with the city - so that probably won't happen. But he will try. I put us down for 6:30 so for the people coming a bit early. He will reserve us a pool table as well. Very nice guy and loves the idea of the mini's invading!

Just want to put a little reminder up for all of us going to UJ's... this sunday (10th) is the opening night for the football season. So we may be a little bit more crowded than usual in the bars...Just want to put that out there. Still gonna come though!

I think they only card you to drink (and they take your ID to borrow darts). Though I could be wrong.

I'm so pissed at the nurse that does the schedule at work! I NEVER HAVE WORKED A SUNDAY in the year and a half that I have been there, and NOW I HAVE TO WORK SUNDAY'S! I am so mad I could quit...but then I would be out of a job!
So unless I can get someone to work for me, I am out. And unfortunatly, if I am out, Jay is out as well.

I hope you can make it Stacey... but why not Jay? I will volunteer to pick him up and drop him off, if that helps...

ARGH - thanks to work demands, I have to attend an intense 7-day training course (i.e. "boot camp" style - live, eat, sleep & breathe the stuff) all next week in Pennsylvania. The course also includes two exams during the week, so it's heavy duty stuff.

I drive up to PA on Sunday afternoon (Sept 10), and I won't return until the following Sunday (Sept 17), (possibly late Saturday if we finish up early, but who knows)... which means I'll miss out on Union Jack's AND the MINI of Sterling breakfast!

I would postpone the training if I could, but the next available dates being taught at the facility aren't until mid-November, and I need to have this training under my belt well before then in time for this very large migration project I will be working on.

I hope you all have a great time at both UJs and MoS... I'll see you at the next one of each!

Thanks! Yep, it is... it's training I did want to get at some point, but to find out I'm going away for that week with only a week's advance notice is a bit... stressful. Ah well, it will feel good to get it done.
