[Sat, Sept 23] Philly Cheesesteak and Helix Run
I've gotten a lot of questions about installations on Saturday. My original intent was not to do any, and just enjoy the day, but I may be able to do a couple of installs that afternoon. Give me a ding or drop me an email if you are interested and we'll chat. Cheers
Seeing as we STILL don't have SoulFire back yet (hope tomorow!! Crossing fingers) I think we will unfortunatly be out for this run. I just don't think Ellie can keep up with MINIs!
Plus this gives us the opportunity to finsh this place completely!

And since Mr. Krut has failed to mention it - We'll be meeting at the 1st rest stop on I-95 in Maryland heading north towards Baltimore from DC. It's just past mile marker 36 and immediately past Exit 35A.
We'll be leaving bright and early from the rest stop at 9AM.
The rest stop has restrooms and vending machines, but no restaurants, so plan ahead!
I'm going to pester Eric and attempt to get the route from him tomorrow.
And it looks like that it's going to be a beautiful day for a run!
-Paul!

For people coming down from the north... Who want to join up with those from the South on this mythical run off of I-476 (the Blue Route)....
I've been in touch with Krut, they are leaving at 9:00 from the southern part of MD and say they will be in PA around 11:00, so I'll be stopping at
Alexander Hamilton Rest stop (1st southbound rest stop) at 9:00 or at Molly Pitcher (3rd southbound rest stop) at 9:45. That should put us in Swathmore at 11:00. Will we meet anybody, anywhere, at anytime? Don't know, but that's the plan, and I'm sticking to it at least for now. Rgds, Michael cell 914.720.8300

Okay Folks: for those of you that are going to meet me for a little fun run Philly style, here's the plan. We will meet at around 11:30 at the Ramour and Flannigan parking lot on MacDade Blvd. near 95 and 476. Here's how to get there: Take I95 North, through Chester, PA and follow signs for route 476 west (it's the only way you can go on 476). Take the first exit from 476, MacDade Blvd East. As soon as you are on MacDade Blvd., take your first right into the parking lot into the strip mall containing a Ballys and the Raymour and Flannigan. I will be waiting for you in an EB MINI S with big Helix stickers on it. From there you can follow me via some fun roads to Helix. Any questions, please don't hesitate to call. Note: Our Modem is on the fritz so our internet and email is sporatic til Monday.
OK, we're going to try to make this all the way from Blacksburg, VA (south of Roanoke) to Philly, via Arlington. We won't be joining everyone at 9 for the drive up, but hopefully we'll catch up in time for the 11:30 run... otherwise we'll see (meet) everyone at the shop.
From Eric, "Our Modem is on the fritz so our internet and email is sporatic til Monday" Say it an't so! You don't still have dialup! I'll trade you: 1 Pulley for a nice broadband router. You supply the cable or dsl connection and I'll hook you up (literally and figuratively). Michael
Thanks, Eric!
Sounds good. My GPS will be locked 'n' loaded with the directions. Meeting by 11:30 should allow plenty of time for a rest-stop and any traffic problems.
Remember all, we're leaving at 9AM from the rest stop tomorrow!

mistro,
It'd probably be easiest for you (and anyone else coming from the northeast) to meet up with us when we all meet up in the Ramour and Flannigan parking lot. Plus then, you won't miss the fun part!
---
And for those meeting up at the rest stop, please bring a FRS/GMRS radio along tomorrow! Even if you don't like using it while driving, just listening will keep you abreast of any and all issues we may have on the road. The group will be tuned to MINI standard, aka channel 7, sub-channel 21.
See ya's all tomorrow!

I'm sure he has changed a lot since you showed me the pic on your cell phone, back when I was working for Joanns....by the way, did you get your framed art back yet?
Ok all - we're a go! Paul has route destructions from MD to I-476 Strathmore - Eric of Helix will be meeting us and he has destructions for us to get from there to the shop. Should be a fun day.
If you have a GPS unit (heheheheh I said U-N-I-T) bring it.. and bring your FRS radio.
My mobile number is 202-549-8829. Cooper will be attending as well as a special guest who will be doing horoscopes for everyone.

Got a reasonably decent picture in the Fort McHenry Tunnel.
Officially out of warranty (for real this time).
Had a good time, met a handful of new people.
Thanks for Helix for hosting.

It was fun seeing everyone! Thanks to Eric for hosting the party/hangout, arranging everything, leading us through scenic route to the shop, and having a bucket of soapy water for us to wash our MINI's. Also thanks to Dan from Hi Rev Imaging for coming out and taking pics of our MINI's. Can't wait to see my shots!
Also it was a good run back home as well.
Hope everyone made it home ok and had fun as well. Soulfire, hope the dogs are ok.
