August 18th @ 7:00 p.m. Cocktails in Arlington

Time to cool off and unwind!!! Cocktails at Sette Bello in Arlington on August 18th @ 7:00 p.m. There will be some non-mini people in attendance but I am sure we can sway them to our cult … I mean club … I really meant club … seriously!

Sette Bello is located at 3101 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington VA. Street parking is available as well as free garage parking located at the Department of Human Resources on Highland.

I hope you can join us!

Hmm. No responses yet. Well, I've not been able to make the things you've organized so far so I'll be the first MINI'r to say I'll attempt to make it to this! I'm not usually much of a happy hour kinda guy, but work just might drive me to drink this month!

Yeah, I was thinking maybe Arlington isn't all that popular with the group.

It might have something to do with the fact that Arlington is so crowded, that parking & traffic can be a nightmare. I can't go, because I have a late night network outage starting at the same time (7pm)... but since I turned out for the last one, I don't feel so bad.

I think the calendar has just been pretty full of MINI stuff lately. We've got the ball rolling now!

Is it inappropriate that I post non-Mini events? I personally enjoy hanging out with Mini people and non-Mini people; getting to know each other.

Yes, but perception is 90% of the hurdle... and Arlington has a crowded reputation for a reason - it IS!

Or the reverse... you mean you're afraid of MINI-only events? You won't know what you're really missing until you go to a DCMM driving event.

I for one apppreciate the chance to meet new folks. And I'm willing to conceed their might be SOME nice people out there that drive something other than a MINI. It's OK if they don't drive a MINI, as long as they sail or are into cycling.

I agree, it is hard to accept those who do not drive Mini's. Especially those split personality people who drive a Mini and a Ford Mustang (Edge). If the person is into sailing and willing to take others out on their boat then I can DEFINITELY forgive them and see the good in their evil soul.

OK ladies. I'm always looking for new folks to take sailing. I'm doing a motor bracket replacement now and she'll (the boat) be back together and ready again in about two weeks.

I'll 'hail' you when she's shipshape again.

Oh, and don't anyone tell Xcaligali about my big truck! Shhh.

We will just have to wait and see how accomodating your boat is then we think about forgiving you for the truck

But, but, the outboard, the sails, the new seats, the wooden cockpit floor, etc., none of those things would've fit in my MINI!

Boy, I'm ready for this. (Happy Hour) It's been a 'full' week. And on a side note, I'll have the good ship s/v Toyot back to full sea worthy status by Sunday at the latest. Hurrah!

Unfortunately, due to the planned network outage tonight at work, I can't make it. (This is the same reason I won't be at the MINI of Towson breakfast tomorrow)

I hope you all have a great time.

Now who is the one shying away from events? Will you be joining us for tubing next or will there be another "network outage"?

Well, it's not as though this is an actual DCMM-based event anyway...

...but I come to every event I am able to. Tubing is not certain yet either, but I'll try... at least I'm trying!

Thanks for the invite. It was good to meet you, and certainly handy to learn you're 'loose'.
