Framing Sale coming up!

Hello everyone...

I checked with Mark Ferguson and he approved my posting this thread....

From August 19th to September 4th, there will be a 60% off your total framing order sale at the frameshop where I work. I am the lead picture framer at JoAnns in Columbia MD, and would love to frame all those Dragon pictures I know you all have! Other pictures are acceptable as well, the sale is on however many you want to get framed.

For a basic frame job how much would it roughly be during the sale? I finally got my panoramas this week (lost in the mail). Thanks!

FYI.

Sally did quite a few frame work for us including MOTD '04 Panoramic picture, which is just Fabulous

She is GREAT !!! The frame work is excellent and best of all I never went to the store as she worked with me via e-mail.

I think it's finally time to get my degree from UMCP framed. It's been sitting in it's mailing tube since Jan 2003 or so (I think, I don't really remember anymore).

Will, Sally framed my MS & CompTIA certs last year, and did a fantastic job. You won't be disappointed!

You've made me raise my hopes. Now anything less than a Wagnbat logo engraved in the frame will result in dissapointment.

For everyone who is wondering about prices...it's very hard to say. It all depends on what you pick out. I have yet to take mine out of the tube, so I havent even priced out what I might want for my own panoramic photo.

My plan is to possibly mat it and put it into a nice wood frame. Rough estimate... around $100 on up. Keep in mind, this will be with acid free materials, including the glass (UV protecting) Price could be less with no mat and maybe a metal frame or less ornate wooden frame.

Wagnbat - I might not be able to carve your logo into the frame, but I have done some interesting things to the mats.

Congrats on fourth Gear!

I'd be interested in having last years done by ya. I don't have a easy set up to cut a mat that big. I'll have to check size though, I think last years was bigger than this.

Last years WAS bigger. For Marina's, I did not mat it. I can put spacers in in to keep the photo from sticking to the glass. For those who have both last years AND this years...I can mat the new one to be roughly the same size as 2005.

Its an administrative assistant job in northern Bethesda. My hope is that by not doing creative stuff at work all the time, I will actually do creative stuff at home. Plus its a monday through friday job.. no evenings, weekends or holidays... so I will be free to do MINI stuff more often without conflicts.

I also plan to sell my townhouse in Columbia by the spring and move closer to DC. So this is a good first step towards that goal as well.

Nope, wouldnt be getting the supplies in before then or in time to do the work....
Plus I havent told them yet, I will be turning in my letter of resignation today....I might not have a job today!

Theres a good frameshop in the Waverly shopping center near Marriottsville, MD. I know the owner and the Framer well... almost went to work for them, might help them out during the christmas rush.

Cool. It's been 18 years since I got out of Retail Management. The change to M_F and stable hours is literally a life altering experience! Very Happy for you!

For most of the drive home after the interview, (and after a quick detour to Union Jacks ) I was yelling in the MINI.. "I cant believe I'm finally out of retail!!!!!"

Awesome news! Congratulations... and I'm sure you are all the more relieved to know that your new job isn't going to be phased out.

Something tells me that a place in Bethesda is waiting for you... once you get used to a short commute, it's tough to go back!

ssallykat,

Like everyone else here, I wish you all the best!!! If you are concerned about not having a job after today, wait a little longer before turning in your letter. That's just how retail and small business often is... they can be real a**holes. Plus, you have to get my Dragon photo done!!

I'm very excited for you!! Happy Motoring!!
