It sounds like you're going to be happier not having to deal with the uneven schedule of retail and that's the important part. Sounds like you have quite a bit of things falling into place for the better.

 

Yes, considering the frame shop manager wasnt too upset about my news, it seems like they wanted me to leave on my own anyways...Havent told the store manager yet. He wasnt in today.
I still have some work to do on this place, but my plan is to definately move closer to the new job...seems like a nice area. I DO know of a few backroads ways to get there though, so that should make the commute easier til I move.
Dont worry, I will get it done before I go...still waiting on the frame and mat though. It should arrive tomorrow. I also have five jerseys to frame before I go.. customer also requested me. :impatient

YEA no more retail! I worked in retail for 17 years....every freakin' Saturday, too. The 1st Saturday I had off, I didn't know what do with myself.

Office work... filing, faxing, researching stuff online for housing titles, etc.. Im mostly excited about the schedule..and learning something new.

 

Don't forget, you get your own cube now too. So you can decorate it up (probably) with all sorts of MINI stuff.

It's the (unscented) "MINI car smell" air freshener... or in this case, "cubicle smell" air freshener.

My plan is to take a picture of my dashboard/view out the windshield and get it printed up about 12"x18", mount it on some foam-board, and use an x-acto knife to trim away the actual scenery out of that picture. Then I'm going to get some prints made up of views down different roads (also 12"x18"), and after I pin the scenery up on my cube wall I just need to pin the "dashboard" up over top of it; since I'll have the outside-view parts trimmed away, I'll be able to see the road-scenery underneath it and it'll look like i'm motoring in my MINI! Plus, this way when I feel like "driving" somewhere else instead, I just need to change the background image!

If I get really ambitious, I may put together a rear view mirror out of foam board, a photo of my rear view mirror, and some tinfoil (to look reflectivey); get some magnets to stick it to the bottom metal shelf above my cube, and then I can hang this air freshener from that!

The great part is that my coworkers already probably think I'm nuts, so I've got nothing to lose!
