As you know, I had my side and back windows tinted, but I did not get a strip for the top of the front window. I did not want just a plain dark strip at the window and was looking for a more factory look in which the strip faded to clear from top to bottom. I've seen someone who had this done on their vehicle about a year ago, but I did not ask them who installed the tint, since I assumed it was well known. I'm now finding out that many technicians know nothing about it. Does any know about this unique tint and where I can get it installed.

I checked with them and they said "No", they haven't seen anything like that on a tint

I just had my windows tinted and I noticed that the tint didn't cover the rear side windows completely - it stops just before the "dots" on the inside window, so it looks like there's a line around the tint and the edge is clearly visible. The tint guy called the dots part of the "window dot matrix" from the factory.

I understand they can't put the tint over the dots (it'd never stay flat, eh?). Could they (or could I) scrape off those dots or do they serve some functional purpose?

Thoughts?
