Off Topic - Resume Writer in DC Metro Area

Sad fact is that my resume is hopelessly out of date and I am too lazy to redo it myself. Anyone know or ever worked with anybody who does professional resume writing?

Thanks

Ok, you're one of the last people I would expect to need to prepare a resume...

With my current job we actually have to update our resumes occasionally because of how we bid on jobs. Included in the bids are lists of personnel and what skills they have.

Dunno about professional resume people though. I just do my own un-professional update. It's worked well enough so far...

I'd actually avoid them like the plague. The vast majority of them simply make it look nice, they don't do any editing or make any suggestions about content. If you're even half-way decent with a word processor you can do as well as any of them. And you'll save a few bucks in the process.

I'm with Michael. I would assume that anywhere you decided to go (with emphasis on anywhere) they would hand you a blank sheet of paper and have you write your own job description

Depending on your work sector a professional resume writer can be a very good thing. I have used one before in the past and I had nothing but good luck. I used a company on the web called www.resume-helper.com. Nothing but good things to say about them.

Yeah but aren't you like a government contractor or something? Jen's different, from what I understand she's like an institution at Four Seasons...

Well that and Wonder Woman... Oh wait, that's just to those of us who've worked with her in the club!

Thanks for the advice. I can word process up a storm and making it look pretty I can handle easily, what I need is someone to sit me down and help me make sense of what it is I do. I got a few suggestions on career coach type people who might be able to point to the right place too.

I am TOYING with the idea of putting myself out in the marketplace to see what else is out there, but realize the first step would be having to have a resume. The last time I updated it was 10 years ago!!
