Aussie/Kiwi Pies, Sausage Rolls and Flat Whites!

When? Monday February 20, 2005

Where? Cassatts Kiwi Cafe and Art Gallery, corner of Old Dominion and Lee Highway in Arlington, VA

4536 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA (703) 527-333

Time? 7 pm to 9 pm

Let me know how many want to attend so that I can give them a heads up.

Yeah, I am most definitely in... back to my Aussie roots! I'm pretty sure Sally will be there too, but I'll let the lady speak for herself.

Cassatt's

My neighborhood (when you want a good meal at a reasonable price and see your neighbors at the same time) place. His kid and my kid go to the same school. Great guy. tends to get a bit crowded during the dinner hour. Maybe should reserve the overflow/kiddie room downstairs. Parking in front and in back. Same small strip mall as Arrow Wines. Confusing road - off of section that you would consider to be Lee Highway but is actually Old Dominion (we do that all the time in Arlington to confuse the Yankees). GW parkway west to Spout run bear right at the light onto Lorcom Lane (Lorcom runs parallel to Lee highway)through light at Filmore, through light at Military, next light is Old Dominion/Lee highway - across intersection and right at the next light onto Old Lee Highway - on your left next to last storefront - right next to "Crisp and Juicy" Latin American chicken. Two thumbs up. Additional direction upon request. Happy to talk to him about reserving or special menu.

I went and tested out the meat pies last night - OMIGOD they're good!! Steak, mushroom, garlic was fantastic as was the steak and cheese. After dinner I had a flat white (not done properly) and Pavlova for dessert. Looking forward to taking a few of you mates there!

Sorry to hear it won't happen for tomorrow... but I'm glad it will work out for the 27th! Unfortunately I won't be able to make it there at 6pm from work though... I don't get off work until 6 at the earliest. Perhaps it can start a little bit later? 6:30pm or 7pm?

Oh well, even if I show up late, at least it is better than not at all.

7 pm probably works better for most people. I've changed the time in the first post to reflect that.

No worries, Krut only skims the forums for new posts. If he didn't read it once, you have to post it again for him.
