DCMM Presents: Dinner @ Mango Mikes! January 29th

Cold? Come out to Mango Mike's for an island dinner party and warm up!

When: Sunday, January 29th
What: Being with your MINI friends at a tropical island themed dinner party!
Time: Please be there by 4:00 PM
Where: Mango Mike's Directions
4580 Duke Street
Alexandria, VA 22304
703-370-3800
RSVP: to events@dcmetrominis.org no later than Saturday, the 28th. The earlier the better though, as I must limit the RSVPs to 30 people, due to the size of the dining room!
Cost: It will be a fixed, all inclusive cost (except alcohol!) of $25 per person. For simplicity's sake, please have cash on hand at the restaurant!
Menu:
Salad: House salad w/ Mango Vinaigrette Dressing, fresh Hush Puppies
Entree: Choice of: Fresh Grilled Salmon, Half Rack of Pork Ribs, Jamaican Chicken (note: I had this when I was there, good stuff!), or Island Pasta (has chicken, Andouille Sausage & Shrimp)
Dessert: House-made Key Lime Pie

Price includes coffee, iced tea, and fountain sodas, and also includes tax and gratuity.

And a lei for every guest!

Hope to see you there!

Sounds good - I'm in too... word to the wise though, Mango Mike's can get very busy and the parking lot fills up quick... but at 4pm on Sunday I doubt it will be a big problem.

Here's the website: Mango Mike's Carribean Restaurant

And from the site, the address:

Mango Mike's
4580 Duke Street
Alexandria, VA 22304

(703)370-3800

It's not very far inside Virginia from MD... remember, Alexandria borders the Potomac.

Not sure

Can't promise I'll be there, but I'll RSVP by Sat. night to let you know. I'll be spending all day Saturday at the Washington Auto Show, so getting anything productive done may not happen that day. This will lead to squeezing a weekend's worth of errands into Sunday. We'll see how it goes.

Retyping the first post now.

Sorry about the 'quick 'n dirty' post above, but I'm really not supposed to be messing with the internet for unofficial buisness at work! After the top post is retyped, if there's any questions, please ask!

Edit: Done! See above for full event details!

Mango Mike's actually has a big honkin' parking lot on site! There shouldn't be any problem finding a corner for all of us! According to the manager I talked to, it shouldn't be busy during the time when we'll all show up.

So are you giving out orange envelopes or red? I've lost track - what year will it be?

Back when I did the Chinese New Year thing it was always red envelopes with gold printing. 2006 appears to be the year of the Fire Dog (not just any dog, but a dog on fire).

You code jockeys - so you need emoticons in order to know when somethings funny?

Orange Leader -orange envelopes - weak attempt at humor on my part.

Uhmm roast dog or would that be hot dog?
