Do you ever feel
i visit DC area last week and i had two people can't stop their car on time and had to turn out to the emergency lane to spar some distand for them to stop.
i dont know they dont know how to drive or they were doing something else on the road while driving or they just dont have brakes as good as my Big Brake Kit
. i wasn't stopping hard at all at that time.
maybe someone can design on of those rear headlights only turns on when car get close to certain distance. it will be more like a security light.
just some day dream to do.

I feel the same way...
While I realize there is a bit of an "optical illusion" involved (no trunk), folks do seem to pull up close behind at stoplights. I have a pretty strong sense of personal space, and this extends to my car.
I can't understand why the average dimwit has to pull up so close. Are they afraid somebody will cut in front of them if they leave a foot or two? Does this somehow make them a better driver? Are they watching too much NASCAR?
People overestimate their own ability/their car's abilty to stop, and this is where problems can crop up. I can't wait until the winter weather sets in...

I hate that ..
I cannot stand when I am carrying unwanted guests in my boot....
I don't give people rides, I like to motor with my MINI alone (that's why we have two)... and yet sometime I have the feeling that I am sharing my ride with some unknown jack ***.
I think the big ones try to intimidate me...

I have heard people got in accident because they want to see a little bit closer and more about what's on the mini and what the interior look like

This hits close to home. On the highway a month or so ago I passed an Olds wagon, early eighties I'd guess, that was rusted out and beat to crap with a for sale sign in the rear window. You all know the type of car I'm talking about here. Something about her or her car gave me a funny (bad) feeling as I passed. A couple miles later up the road traffic was coming to a quick halt. As I slowed with plenty of room in front I look in the mirror as we all would do in an instance like this. Well you guessed it, I see the Olds changing lanes to avoid one wreck and coming into my lane. I'm pumping my brakes to flash the lights as I am stopped by now and she has dynamited the brakes and is sliding towards me. I pulled within inches of the car in front of me and the wagon stopped with a couple of inches to spare! I kept thinking if I were driving our Audi I would clearly have been hit! Whew! A little too close for comfort.
thanks god that you did not get hit by the wagon.
but i have a question. what if the wagon hit you and push you to the car in front of you? does it count that you stop too close the the car in front of you?
i always heard that if you hit someone in the back you are at fault. what about case like this.
i wanna know if that happend what i need to do!

if you get hit from behind, and in turn hit the car in front of you because of the impact, you're not at fault. The guy who hit you is. I know this because it happened to me. I wasn't in the MINI thank heaven or my back end would've been destroyed cuz it was an SUV that was shoved into me. Still, it caused $400 worth of damage to my husband's old Forester.
