Want to crash this event? August 13 in Baltimore

For those who want to come up - details!

When - tomorrow, Saturday August 13
Time - The NEMINI group has a lunch reservation for 12:30 pm
Where - G&M Restaurant in Baltimore.
G&M Restaurant & Lounge
804 Hammonds Ferry Road | Linthicum Heights, Maryland 21090
410-636-1777
Directions - http://www.gandmrestaurant.com/directions.php

There are no firm plans after lunch. A few members of NEMINI are staying overnight in DC at the Westin Grand and will be going out at night, place TBD.

I know we have an event planned on August 14, but it might be fun to drop in and say hi to the folks from the NY region who are apparently planning on coming down to Balitmore for crabs.

http://www.nemini.org/Forums/viewtop...c/start=0.html

It sounds like they are still fleshing out the details.

This just crys out for a witty retort...

None of them have figured out that G&M is the best place in the area for a really good crab cake. I'm not big into sea spiders but I will eat a crab cake from G&M.

Depending on what time I finish final route-testing on Saturday, and what time they plan on eating, I may show up!

Screw the Annapolis run, these guys organize an event to our backyard and don't even let us know about it? What's up with that?

I say we need to crash the place, fill the parking lot so they have to park on the street!

Yeah, thought that too. Some are staying over in DC for the night. I did get a nice note back welcoming any DCMMer who wants to come along. They don't appear to have decided on a place yet.

Hmmm... do I sense another MINI gathering in the works?? Though as I recall, it's pretty tough to get in to G&M, but if we have the inside hookup...

Yech... I can't believe they are considering Phillips, since I'm sure they are thinking of the one in Harbor Place. That place gives me a bad case of the *shudders*.

Heeby jeebies? Yes. Philips doesn't give that "wholesome" feeling, like G&M. I'm pretty sure if a few folks would wanna meet up there I could ask her about the reservation process or even if they have one and see if she could hook us up. That'd be hella sweet.

Just another reason why they should have contacted us about this!

We'd love too. I think a bunch of us will try to come up to meet you for lunch.

DCMM folks - anyone up for trying to get into the Clubhouse on this evening and taking these fine folks for Mexican? Or, does anyone know a good place downtown?

Just visited Elephant & Castle today. It's on Penn Ave. Very good, nice atmosphere, *little* pricey. Not too much parking space, unless you get valet parking, which I'm not sure they even have.

Not sure how everyone feels about NOT driving their MINI, but just thought I'd chime in with a place.

It's not that we're annoyed or anything... It's just that we would have been glad to help you guys sort through your confusion/host you guys if you had come to us.

The clubhouse isn't a bad idea, although if they're going to be up in the Baltimore suburbs, maybe we want to consider something closer to the VA Beltway? Otherwise I'd also suggest a Sushi place by me that's big enough for a large group, reasonably priced and rarely that busy on a Saturday night. Got a Chinese place that would also work just as well too if people aren't into Japanese...

Also being up in the Baltimore area, if they want something to do we could re-run the Roads & Rails route that afternoon...

Depending on how early they make it down to eat, they might not be interested in another actual meal! Does anyone know of a good Baltimore-local ice cream place, or somewhere where they have a fantastic dessert that's not-to-miss?

-Paul!

Edit: I just re-read the NEMINI post, and I guess that they are planning to make it down for lunch, so nevermind!! They should all be hankerin' for another meal later on. BTW, Japanese / Sushi sounds great!

Semi-Baltimore-ish, but there's no way it could possibly accomodate the crowd we're likely to have. On any given night that I might swing up there I have enough trouble finding one parking space. Oh yeah, this place is called Hoffmans, they make their own ice cream and such on-site.

If we want Sushi, the place is Sho-Chiku http://restaurants.washingtoncitypap...fbd9f9e65e0d43

It looks like the NEMINI people will be staying in DC so it won't be too bad if we drag them up to Centreville.

Let me know and I'll give them a call and warn them that we're coming.

Some of them are upset that they are missing an ice-cream and mini-golf run on the 13th... We could after Sushi head back to Nathan's Dairy Bar and the Mini Golf place in Manassas as it's about 10 minutes up the road from Sho-Chiku
