Want to crash this event? August 13 in Baltimore

Do you think I could crash the party too?
I was planning on introducing myself to DCMM at the A&W on the 14th, but it looks as though that probably won't work out. Do you think it would be okay if I showed up at G&M on Saturday for lunch, or are there already too many people going?

I'm planning on going, the NEMINI people made reservations for ~15. I'm not sure of their current head count though. I don't see any reason you can't show up for this. Although I don't think there is going to be quite as many DCMM folks at G&M as there will be the next day at the Annapolis run.
I updated the first post with directions to the restaurant and the times. I think that so far Paddy and Matt are the only definites. I am 75% sure I will be there - trying to convince a friend from Bowie to come up with me.
Anyone else?

Well hello and good morning to everyone!
We're all excited and pumped about making the trip down to Baltimore/DC tomorrow! We have about a dozen MINIs from CT, NY & NJ in on this crabby escapade.
I think we have our plans pretty much in place, but you never know with this group...
We have made reservations at the G&M Restaurant in Linthicum Heights, MD for 12:30 pm. Some of us have made plans to stay overnight in DC as well. Others will be turning back north after lunch.
Hey, can some of us CRASH your ANNAPOLIS run on Sunday?
Looking forward to meeting y'all!

As for Sunday, check with Paul! I think he mentioned that he needed to put a cap on the size because the group has grown quite a bit...
DC by Night
Since the New Yorkers are staying in DC and they have to get up early in the morning to crash our RUN we could do something in the city DC by Night
A fun turistic drive around town - Hines Point, Rock Creek Park, Kennedy Center - driving by the Potomac up the Mall finish in Capitol Hill and have dinner or a drink in Capitol Hill. Many restaurants to chose from and not as packed as downtow.

Peter, the organizer of the NY- Baltimore event, said that 4-5 MINIs staying in DC for the night will be interested in going to the DC by Night Drive.
Last night we tried the route:
From the Westin Hotel on M street we will go down to the WWII memorial - at night is quite a sight with the Memorial in one side and the Washington Monument on the other. Go to Rock Creek Park - the first part will be a bit heavy in traffic but at the tennis courts is better. Turn at the Police Station and come back down (nice twisties there) . Pass the Kennedy center and the Potomac - great view at night- go to Haines Point and loop around - last night we were able to go as far as the Awakening, leave HP and pass the Fish Maket, turn on 7th Street and reach the Mall, drive thru Madison Ave - right in the Middle of the Mall- loop around the Capitol, pass the Supreme Court and finish at Eastern Market; same street where we did the 4th of July Parade.
This tour should take about an hour maybe 1 and half.

Missed lunch because wife scheduled work after her morning Baltimore appointment. She works 1 mile from home, and I just dropped her off at work, and don't feel like driving back to Baltimore since I just drove to towson and back already.
All set for tonight!
The DC by Night Drive will start at the Westin Hotel on M street NW.
Mtg. time about 8:00 pm we will take off by 8:30 from there. We should be in Capitol Hill around 9:30 10:00 p.
I am trying to arrange a place to eat in Capitol Hill. If you want to join us just show up at the Hotel w/ your radios.

All back north safely - and it isn't much cooler here either!
Thanks for meeting us this weekend! We had a great time - great food, drink and company.
It was nice seeing and meeting at the crabcake lunch Jen, CmdrVimes and Paddy. Thanks for the G&M Restaurant recommendation - some of us went back there on Sunday on the way home to get some crabcakes to go.
Thanks also Lastrega, James and Paul! who met us at our hotel and took us on a splendid night rally around the monuments and landmarks of D.C. A classic yellow Mini also stopped by as well - cool! Too bad some of the roads planned were closed. Nevertheless it was nice seeing the sights, and being the sights, of the City afterdark. We ended up at Marty's in the Cap Hill area, and quickly quenched four pitchers of cold beer! A fun evening!
Although I personally was not able to make it (too much partying in Georgetown
...), one of our MINIs did attend the Annapolis rally on Sunday morning. She reports of having a fun time motoring and seeing the great turn-out of MINIs.
DCMM - you guys rock! 'Till next time....
