Marina,
I have your DCMM window sign. Guess I'll have to come to another event to give it back to ya. It was nice meeting you and the rest of the crew. And the parade... I've never had so many eyes on me at once, took some getting use to. What a blast.

This Parade was a blast. Good weather and plenty of fun people.

Some pics from yesterday:

Broken toy door and some of the parade:

MINIs for as far as the eye can see

Another pic:

Anyone else have any pics to show? I don't seem to have many.

I believe we had 2 MCSc and 1 MCC. So 3 of the 20 cars were Cabrios.

Anyone else find it really humorous that a bunch of "English" cars were in a 4th of July Parade?

Yes! Isn't July 4th celebrating America's independance from England?

Or the fact that the car leading the English cars had GB Eurotag on it's front bumper?

BTW what was with the Annapolis Sons of The Signers and that crummy fire truck? Could they not see that it was a pothole away from the car crusher?

BTW for those who did not attend... those three letters are bold and highlighted because a good part of that group were wearing T-Shirts that had *** VFD, I'm sorry but I'd have to think twice about wearing a shirt with that on the back...

That parade was a great way to end the day. The Capitol Hill Parade is nice, but to have the sheer numbers that Annapolis had watching the parade was just fantastic. Once we got around that circle and headed towards the docks I was just blown away.

Gotta describe it because the language filters will block it. They said *** VFD, I'm sorry but I'd have to think twice about wearing a shirt with that on the back...
I couldn't of said it better When their truck (junker) finally rolled off and let the parade continue I was elated.

Oh Katie, I heard the Anne Arundel Republican Women are looking for your help with next year's floats.

You know it would have been too funny if they had taken the big stuffed elephant that they tied to the roof of the Suburban, and instead tied it across the hood of their Hummer!

I am not sure about the Ann Son of the Singers.. I did not see them.. but I did smell the Annapolis Stinky horse ... all the way to the end (and I was the last MINI of the group !!!) with the top down I did not miss a single sniff

Thank you much to all you for coming particulary to those who came to the Capitol Hill Parade... not as big as Annapolis but fun: We recouped a lot of decorations and it gave us an excuse to have a MINI Run... somehow we managed to regroup in Bowie.. that was amazing!!!

I am glad that nobody fell from the roof of our place and was able to enjoy the Fireworks !!! Most of us were able to park right in front of our place.... (sorry Matthew.. )

We also have two new members!!!

Marina we have a few of the signs as well for you. I have the signs from those of us who followed Mark's directions over the Severn River instead of to Grauls...

Pictures! You Want Pictures!

I have just posted about 30 of my best pictures from the Annapolis Parade here .

Here are a few of the (IMHO) better pictures:

A Horse is a horse, of course, of course

{Cheating -- this next one was taken by a friend watching the parade }

And finally -- the great MINI vs SEGWAY race:

And I have the BRITAIN on my rear bumper. At least I had the good sense to drape a US Flag banner over the Cross of St George on the hood

I asked one of them when he cruised by, they're just representatives of some local business..that has the cash to rent or own three Segways. Life is good in Annapolis, I guess. Even with the small business-hostile legislation the locals make mention of.

cheers,
Matthew Z.

Yes, these Segway people rent 'em out to tourists, who can seen tooling around Annapolis wearing helmets, elbow pads and knee pads...they could fall down, after all...Marina and I love to make fun of them.

One of them cruised by our staging area before the parade, and I asked him where his helmet and pads were. He replied that was a "professional." Marina says, "Professional what? Professional idiot?"

('course, I think Segways are cool and would buy one if I had the bread)

I'd rather have one of Dean's helo's, or maybe he could deliver your Segway in his citationjet, right?

Cheers,
Matthew z.
