4th of July Parade in Annapolis!
OK, I have official confirmation of our place in the Annapolis Parade!
DC Metro MINIs is in position 9, right behind the Jazzercise people!
That's kind of near the front, so we will be prominent.
I will post the parade route and other dirctions soon.

I just got a bunch of cool stuff from Oriental Trading to decorate the cars with. I also got a bunch of pinwheels we can hold out our windows/rooves to wave at the crowd with. This is gonna be fun.
To those of you who would like to come to our house in between parades, our address is 627 Old County Road, Severna Park, MD 21146.
You should be able to mapquest for directions. If you need any other info, PM me.
Here's the scoop: I will supply a place to wash your car and a hose. You must bring your own cleaning supplies. Please also bring something to sit on, cash for food&drinks and/or auto car wash and bathing suits and towels.. My house will be a bit of a wreck, so please bear with us. We can get something to eat locally, and if our community beaches aren't too crowded, we can go for a swim in the Severn. Worse comes to worse, I can set up the sprinkler.
Please let me know within the next few days if you're going to come visit us on the 4th, so I can get a sense of how many cars/people will be here.

YOUR PARADE POSITION IS 9, Behind Jazzercise and Before the Corvair (!)
Parade Route: The parade will begin lining up on Amos Garrett Blvd. at approximately 4:30 p.m. ** Please park vehicles that are not in the parade at Maryland Hall, 801 Chase St. At 6:00 p.m., the parade will proceed through the City's Downtown area, beginning on Amos Garrett Blvd, and then right on West Street, around Church Circle, down Main Street, left on Randall Street, and disband just past the Market House. Parade units should proceed up King George or Prince George Streets to exit the downtown area.
This year we have five awards to present; judging will take place before the parade begins so the winners can display their award shield. The categories are:

Due to heightened security awareness all vehicles will be subject to search. NO WEAPONS, OR REPLICA WEAPONS, WILL BE PERMITTED. THANK YOU in advance for your cooperation and help in making this year’s July 4th Celebration safe.
Comfort Amenities: During the time the parade is lining up, portable toilets will be available near the parking area at Maryland Hall. Unfortunately, we will not have access to air conditioning, water fountains or public telephones this year. Please encourage your participants to bring bottled water to keep hydrated and cool. Once at the City Dock, the Harbor Master’s office will have open restroom facilities and public telephones.
Parade Fall Out: The lead units of the parade (the Mayor and the Navy Band) will continue to Susan C. Campbell Park for the Navy Band Concert. All other units are asked to keep moving past the Market House and turn left on King George or Prince George Street.
Fireworks Viewing: If you are driving vehicles and wish to stay for the concert and fireworks, parking will be limited to metered parking spaces and the parking garages downtown. You might consider driving out to the Navy Marine Corps Stadium and taking a shuttle bus back downtown.
Band Concerts: At 8:00 P.M. there will be performances by the Naval Academy Band's Concert Band and Electric Brigade. The Concert Band will perform at City Dock. REMEMBER, you must show a picture ID to gain entrance to the Navy Yard.
Inclement Weather: In the event of severe rain, thunder, lightening, etc. the parade will be canceled, and will not be rescheduled. However, the fireworks will be rescheduled for 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5th. Please tune to WNAV, 1430 AM for updates.

For the Annapolis Parade pre-mtg. you have three options:
1) Caravan with STELLA and STREGA as soon as the Capitol Hill Parade is over - we will have time for a quick stop at the local Starbucks - to Katie and Paul's house just outside Annapolis. The trip will take about 45 minutes because we will have a MINI Run from Bowie to Annapolis . We should arrive between 12:30 and 13:00 with plenty of time to eat, swim, wash and decorate our Little Ones, and take a nap
before going to Graul's.
2) Go to K&P's house at 627 Old County Road, Severna Park, MD 21146.
You should be able to mapquest for directions. From 12:00 pm until ready to go to Graul's.
3) Go to Graul's Market in Annapolis "Taylor Ave. & Rowe Blvd.
Annapolis, MD 21401 - Ample parking - For direction go to www.graulsmarket.com We all meet there before aheading to the Parade. We will leave Graul's parking lot at 16:30 SHARP.
Don't forget to bring WATER (plenty), Radios and snacks .

Where does the MINI run from Bowie to Annapolis stop at? If at all? I could join the caravan as it passes through since I live in BOWIE.:smile:
