whatever's the freshest...that cinnamon crumbcake seemed to be a big hit. I'll try to get another one of those. Whatever I get will be good.

I can't believe I almost forgot!!

Anyhoo, I'm convinced that the Amish market can do no wrong. I think that the worst I had from there was 'only' terrific. And it's all uphill from there!

See ya all there!

Is the amish market the same sort of thing like the one in Burtonsville (or the one that used to be in Westminster but now has moved to Hunt Valley)? If so I may have to stock up on the green tomato relish they sell.

I guess so. I don't know about the ones you mentioned, but the one here in Annapolis is pretty big. They sell everything....from meats and vegetables, to baked goods, spices, cheese, candy, even furniture. It's lots of different counters for each product under one roof. There's a restaurant there as well, but the line's always so long I never have time to eat there.
The market's only opened Thurs., Fri., and Sat., and it's always packed those 3 days. It's a huge money-making deal for them.
I guess they have special dispensation to use electricity and handle money.

yep, sounds like that same thing. They really do have the best green tomato relish (Barb's I think it is).

Sad thing is that I have it marked on a calendar not one foot away from my computer desk!

Ah well! (What was it the the Navy taught me about 'attention to detail'? )

I think what the Navy has taught you is --- if you want it done right, you don't ask the Navy??? right?

Bfast event time?

Is there a specific time for the DCMM breakfast at Tate MINI? I looked through this thread and didn't see it. Apologies if I'm completely missing it!

Ordered MCSa on Feb 12th. Status is stuck at "awaiting transport" right now (been over a week...is our new Mini sitting on a dock all lonely in the UK?).

Robots !!

For those of you coming to Tate Saturday who are also interested in kids and robots, Saturday is the finals of the CHESAPEAKE REGIONAL ROBOTICS COMPETITION at the USNA's Halsey Field House. For info, see http://www.mitc.org/first/

NASA is carrying the event on the web: http://robotics.nasa.gov/events/webcasts/chesapeake.htm

Good Bye "Pepperina"

Finally tomorrow I'll be riunited with my little one. This afternoon I had to pull "a Marina on a MINI Mission" because TATE couldn't fit me into their schedule to check the ratlling noise I mentioned when I dropped the car off to be repaired.

The car was ready on Wednesday but they did not have time to check the problem above mentioned. I took it well since I was planning to pick her up by the end of the week. This pm when I called, the other guy (no Chris) tried to tell me that they are backed up and couldn't get to my car... at this point I was livid . How long can it take to check for a noise ? moreover the loaner has expired tags and the other day I got a ticket ($100) and the car was closed to be towed.

The manger, however, called a few minutes ago saying that he personally checked the rattling noise and repaired the lose item (some kind of pipe inside the dashboard) and my little one is ready for me, so tomorrow morning I will come to breakfast after I take possession again of my MINI.

They did the same thing to me! About two weeks ago, I took in my MINI for its 2nd inspection. I asked for a loaner so they could also check out a speaker that wasn't working (again!). I drove from Tate to Bethesda. When I got there, I noticed that the tags were expired!!! I immediately called them, they said oops and apologized, and I had to drive all the way back to exchange the car. Luckily, when I got there, they said that my car was only a half-hour away from being done. And luckier, I wasn't caught!

-Paul!

(PS - And if anyone cares, it turns out that the first time when my speaker stopped working, they replaced the speaker, but didn't plug it in securely. They said that when they removed the door panel this time, the speaker was unplugged! No wonder it wasn't working! )

Well that was fun! Good to see old and new faces! And a special thanks to Grumbler on leading an impromptu run! I meant to ask, what run were those roads on? Or was it just some backroads that you know?

And of course, a big pile of thanks to Katie for bringing once again the Amish Market goodies! That bread will make a good breakfast!

And good lunch afterwards! (And James, I'm about to enjoy dessert now! )

See you all soon!

if you look at http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=Marlboro,+MD and zoom in a bit.....general idea is....

sands, patuxent river, governor bridge, st george barber, rutland, bell branch,450, st stevens church.

and then a bunch of variations of that for the last little bit.......pre/post bathroom breaks.

hope everyone had fun, I know I did.

....now I just need to wash her a little bit and get all that break dust off.

fyi, excellent cake. have to run a marthon to get back into my pants again though.
