Still watching the weather, and as of today the event is still happening.

For the car care portion, please bring if you can a USB memory stick or a blank CD. We will have a car care bible from our friends here at NAM available for download. Can't wait - check it out here: www.nacarcare.com. And please patronize the store!

This is the specific file (called MINI.exe) you are downloading from NAM.

On Saturday, my laptop will be the source. You could also bring a CF or SD card from your camera. It may also be possible for you to use a WiFi connection, but I won't promise. We have about 13 MB to transfer to you.

I have added to the material you can copy from me -- nearly all the first year MINI TV commercials etc.

As a bonus, I will also have copies of the 2002 technical article by the German engineers describing the technical innards of the MCS engine on the laptop.

Tom

I have a spare "Actual Size" decal up for grabs too. I paypalled some money to DragonSlayer for one of these and he sent me 2. I'm going to put one on my car at some point so that leaves 1 spare.

I also just got an order from Autopia (same people as the NA Car Care) with a bunch of microfiber towels, some 303 Aerospace Protectant, and some Meguiars #40 for outside plastic bits.

something tells me you're just looking for any excuse to go to that Amish Market.

heehee, you're right.

The weather forcast looks bad....80% chance of a steady rain, and temperature only in the upper 40's. So, plan B?

Hey, I'll take the actual size decal off you. I paid for two and he sent one!

Yes, it does look bad. I have just spoken to John and we agree there is really no way to make this an "indoor" event at his place.

Plan B is, unfortunately, to postpone the car wash event. John is going to check his calendar and see when he would have time for us. Probably this event is going to move to later in May. Give me a little bit a time to put something together and I will post again. I will also send e mails to those who have responded.

Ladies and Gentleman, Fellow MINIacs-

We will be postponing the Tech Day and car wash scheduled for this Saturday, April second due to the scheduled weather - which is not good.

Rain date is still being determined - but is likely to be in May.

I am waiting to here from ValnMike if we will still try for a drive even on wettish roads. Stay tuned for more updates on that .

If you RSVP'd for the event, I will send you an e mail between now and Friday with further details.

Sorry about this, but I want to make the call now before people start buying and cooking food to bring. Don't want to wait to the last minute.

Thanks.

Jen

Is this the secret ingredient in your chili?

skinless cat? ew. everyone knows the skin is what imparts the flavor to the meat....

Well, bummer about this Sat. but a wise move, methinks. Cold and rainy is no fun to do anything in, 'cept maybe driving in a warm, dry car.

good call on postponing the thing today, looks miserable outside. That said I think I'm going to head to the movies for some good old fashion black & white movie with lots of killing (Sin City).

Good call indeed. I just came back from the Smithsonian Kite Festival, it was a blast. Hope Sin City is good. Knowing it was coming, I went and picked up the first Sin City book, the basis for the film, I believe.

"Big Fat Kill." A quality read, I must say. Gotta go find a trailer and a web-site, now.

Cheers,
Matthew Z.
