Ours is 'OURMINI' for obvious reasons because we both love driving it. I had to explain what I was trying to say to a lady one day. She thought it was a clothing line or handbags. Even when I explained it, she still didn't get it. There are a lot of nice plates in the area. A lot of people look at ours, get the meaning, and chortle.
My hubby came up with it. I was leaning towards MINI-ME since Austin Powers came out around the time I got mine (I love those movies), but I think it was taken anyway. Then I thought of MINIMAL if MINIMUM had been taken, because that's become my lifestyle, minimalism, but minimum wasn't taken, so there you have it.
MD does not have the ability to check plate availability online. However, you can call their 1800 number and they will tell if you a plate has been taken so you dont have to waste your time.
Or you can fill out the form with 3 choices (or is it 4?) and take it to the window at DMV and they will check your choices while you wait. That's how I've done it--all our cars (3) are vanity tags: FUN2DRV (328ti), MINIMUM (2003 MCS), and FIRST 1 (temporarily on a 1991 328iC--waiting for the new BMW 1 series to come to USA).
JCWGurl, Does that actually work ? Do the Left Lane Lollygaggers go back where they belong when they see you behind them ? (99% rhetorical question as I'm sure they do not).
Cute... never heard of anyone making a "backwards" tag before.
TI 3VOM is a plate I remember seeing in the Sunday "Parade" magazine many, many years ago (it was an article featuring personalized plates). I loved it... and subsequently tried to get it... but in each of the three jurisdictions I have owned a vehicle in (DC, MD & VA), it was already taken.
