New idea for Wensleydale

Out of shear boredom I decided play with the idea of painting the second set of wheels I have for Wensleydale. Here's the results....

and how about a "Blue Angel" MINI ?

Spitfire....there's a member on Mondo MINIs who is from UK and he has custom painted S-lites....I believe if you check on his profile page, one of his photos has a website reference...and ON that page you will see other examples of MINIs with colored S-Lites. Maybe that will help?

If I remember correctly, your MINI is still bone stock. Welcome to the world of modding It's a slippery slope

Thanks guys !

Really, Scav.....you consider yellow wheels a mod ? Ok...maybe you're right....but it will be so easy to take off ! I will admit I have been thinking about getting a JCW exhaust, more for the audio pleasure than anything, I'm hooked on Burble and I want more the nice thing is that its factory equipment and it won't hurt the value.

Actually I was thinking to paint the "spokes" a gray/gunmetal metallic or possibly black to match this !

The Original Space Blue and Silver Mini ! Garner is just way too cool

Anyone know if there are chromed lugs to fit S lites ?

I love that photo with Garner. Do you have to paint your existing S-lites? You can get any number of black/grey/gunmetal rims for your car. You could probably even get a 2nd set of s-lites real cheap in case you don't like the look.

Not sure about chrome lugs. You might have to get studs and put chrome nuts on 'em.

I picked up a set of S-lites from JustDandy for a great price here on NAM. They do need a bit of work to fix the curb rash, nothing a file and a bit of sandpaper can't fix. I may get them stripped and then repaint them or just paint over what is there.

I would love to find some raised white letter tires to go with it, or perhaps paint the letters myself. I did that back when I was a teen and it worked well

Nice finds Scavenger! Since they are Rota, Mach V might be able to set you up with some of those I think the gunmetals would look hot. I wouldn't do the yellow until you have the whole concept figured out and ready to go!

Rota RB in 17x7.5 with +45 offset.

Here's a link to a few shots of a 17x7.5 in gunmetal.

Decisions decisions ! I will definately be painting the set I have, wish I could spring for the Rotas but sadly its not gonna happen

Thanks for the pics though, they both look really good, might try doing one side yellow and the other gunmetal to see which I like ! My dad did that once with his old Chevy Citation, sprayed one side black, ended up going back to silver......man that car was a POS ! No wonder they need bailing out......

BTW- No paint altering on the body will be done, I do plan to get the silver stripe painted on in the spring though.

If I ever get the ability to buy two more MINIs, one for Leona and one for me to take to work and mod, then I will do a custom paint job. I really like Wensley the way she is.

THIS, I like. (Disclaimer : But, as I've seen with other mods, real life does not always look as good as the picture.)
