Sounds like fun. Put me down tentatively for 2 (have to check with my "navigator" first though), for the drive and the shepherd pies.

We may be able to join! Sounds like fun.

Just make SURE you call and alert British Pantry of our coming. And how many to expect.. unless they have expanded since I was last there, it's not that big, and they had to put all of us outside!! and I for one don't want to sit outside in Dec!!

Gracious! Thank you, MINInurse, for the heads up on the British Pantry capacity! I'll check in with them about the timing, etc. Hopefully, we won't have to sit outside!!! Or, better yet, if we do, hopefully it'll be >70°F. Of course, we are talking December, here, but it could happen!!

Of course...a run in my neck of the woods and I'll be out of town. You're probably going to all be driving by my house as I only live a few miles from the British Pantry. Have fun everyone, and take pictures.

HOLY COW!!!

Who knew there were so many gravel roads in Northern VA? Why don't maps tell you this?

Okay, so, on my trial run of the route I had planned for the 14th, a full half of the roads leading from MoS to Purcellville were dirt. I was completely shocked that there were so many unpaved byways through the state! On the way from Purcellville to Lenah, there was only a 0.8 mile stretch of gravel, but luckily, that one is easily bypassed.

So, looks like I've got a bit more research to perform for our run on the 14th. Nothin' wrong with that, though!! Personally, I had a great time speeding along them gritty, dusty paths, but I have the feeling that there would be a lot of resistance to that.

On the other hand, anyone up for a backroad rally sometime?

Half of the route is done! Next half may take awhile. Darn good thing I started planning early!

Has anyone noticed that the British Pantry has approximately three tables? (Thanks for the heads up, MINInurse!)

Do you think we could talk them into letting us hold a MINI tailgate party in the back lot?

Depending on how many of us there are for the run, we may have to take shifts eating! I'm going to call out there to find out if there are any options, but it's lookin' mighty tight!!

Car threw a CEL yesterday. Runs and sounds fine but I won't know until I get a code reader. I guess that puts me down as a maybe....

It's been years since I've gone on a run with the DC folks. Count me in from Delaware.

Well, after many hours of speeding around the countryside between MoS and Purcellville, I've finally been able to put the finishing touches on the route we'll be doing on the 14th.

I'm really looking forward to this and I hope all y'all are, too!

Any word on the BP? They are small and I don't think it's going to be warm enough for anyone to sit outside comfortably.

Yeah, that's my least favorite part of anything, checking on the restaurants. Sorry I've been remiss in this duty. I'll call them today and give you all a heads up as soon as I do.

If it turns out that this will just not be a possibility, does anyone have any suggestions about where we can go. Chantilly is nearby (5-6 miles up the road) and there are lots of places up there. Also, the Red Fox Inn in Middleburg is a possibility.

I'll call and find out for sure how many they can accommodate.

Thanks for the reminder, Scavenger!

BTW, this is kind of funny: if you search for "British Pantry lenah va" on Google, this thread comes up as the fourth entry.
