Model aircraft fly-in

For those who might be interested, the Freestate Aeromodelers will be holding their "Airplanes of the world IV" fly-in this Saturday - see link

http://www.freestateaeromodelers.org/

We're located just west of 95 North and Rt198 near Laurel/Burtonsville, see the link above for directions.

I'll be out with my P-47, P-51, Cub and Fokker DVII. At some point during the event my buddy Gary and I will be doing a WWI dogfight demo (Sorry no burning planes or anything like that) to show the differences between the DVII and a Nieuport 28. The 28 is a nimble little bird and my DVII a tank. Like a MINI and an SUV so I'll have my work cutout for me.

So stop on by, there's no charge to get in and observe, they usually have decent grub to chow on too

Great primer for the run on Sunday !

That looks awesome! Hope you get plenty of Mini support! I'd be there if I could.

American Dynamics AD-150. a VTOL unmanned aerial vehicle.

And..... we'll be there. See you at the event on Sat.

Thanks for the support guys ! As for that UAV.....well, I'm not one to go for airplanes pretending to be helicopters

You know why Heli's fly right ? Because they're so ugly the earth repels them

I would say as early as you can get there (9am) till around 1-2pm. The morning is always good because the wind usually stays down thus more guys are inclined to fly. In years past I have done demo flights of my own aircraft and some of the other members planes with music. Nothing has been pre-arranged this year but we'll see.

Bev and I may be able to show up for a little bit in the morning....as long as you promise that you and your cohorts won't try any bombing runs on our MINIs.

I'll be there. Not sure what time yet, but I'll try for 9:30. I might not have Cricket, though.

Great ! I'll be running around with my head cut off so please bear with me. Bringing and flying four airplanes can be hectic. It will take me at least two trips to get the stuff over there, then I need to attempt to get two test flights in before 9:00am. I'm considering trying to bring one of the birds from work for static display, that would mean a third trip

Thanks G, should be ok, I just don't want you guys feeling like I'm disin' you if I can't spend a ton of time chatting. I still don't know how they are scheduling the flights. BTW- Bring a chair and I think I can get you guys in to hang out under my canopy.
