The only one right now that would be a big surprise to me is Marina...

...but if you're talking about yourself, why is that a surprise? Plenty of people think that Tate's service dept is lacking, even though their sales department is good.

Maybe they should combine the Tate and Sterling and get one good dealership!

Actually, I dont know how the service dept is at Sterling. Hopefully i wont have to find that out too soon; BUT i do know that some of their MA's dont return phone calls and take forEVER to answer emails. Not a good tactic when you're trying to SELL stuff. Ugh.

I live near MOT(bought there) but gladly make that extra 1 1/2 hr drive to Mini of Towson. My car is modded and they've never said one thing about it. They just get to work and fix my problems. Rose is my excellent SA and Dewayne seems on the ball as well.

Good outfit!

Best,
T.

I heard MINI is going to come out with a new rule that you have to get your car serviced where you buy it. That way all you folks coming up to my dealer, MOT, and backing up the service department for days on end, will have to go back to MOS or Tate and I'll be able to get service anytime I want. I was talking to Rose on Thursday a week ago when I had to take the Clubman back to get re-detailed because they did such a horrible job prepping the car the first time, and she said that if I had needed any service work done, she would not have been able to get me in until Monday or Tuesday. Their service department is getting way too busy. Hope they can maintain the quality they are known for.

Dr Evil goes to MoT Thursday for his second service. I'll have to check the records to see if Marina was there on Wednesday or if she really took her MINI to Tate.

I'd be happy if we could just get a Mini shop in Montgomery County. Driving to Towson or Sterling just sucks.

Just be happy that we have Mach V, Funktion Auto, and BEHE Performance along with MoT. Some other MINI owners only have 1 dealership and NO ONE else.

Heck, if you live in Alaska, you have to take your MINI to Seattle WA!!!!

That's great when you're out of warranty, but I've already had to replace my flywheel and clutch with less than 30K miles. I wanted to get something else looked at up at Towson this week, but the offer was to bring it up so they could look at it for 30 minutes. Driving an hour-plus so they can take a peek just doesn't float my boat; I'll wait until something else comes up so I can at least get a loaner for my troubles.

I really don't know where Montgomery Village is, but I live in Germantown and it only takes me about 45-50 min. MoT is 49 miles away and Tate is 47 miles away, yet it takes me 65 min to get to Tate.

I guess Marina has finally "seen the light" Welcome to MoT Marina.

You need to get out more - MV is just east of you I went to HS at Seneca Valley.

Lakeforest Mall?

I've had to go up to Towson twice during the week, and during the morning rush hour. The Baltimore beltway is almost as bad as DC.

It is news because Marina has always been a Tate supporter, even when the good techs left.

Glad you woke up today

I agree that 695 am traffic suffers the vacuum cleaner effect, but there are so many great secondary roads west and north of there that are perfect for impromptu cruising.

Get out there and make it a fun 90 mile trip as opposed to a 47 mile drudge!

Tate service is horrid.

I wonder if their service is the same for the BMW owners. I'd bet not.

Just made an appointment for Ms. Brahms at MoT for next Friday to get the sun roof adjusted (howling noise). Rose (the BEST SA on the planet) said that they are SUPER busy now... zheesh, I wonder why ? ...... Could not see Ms. Brahms until next week.

Cheers !

OMG .. I did not know that me going at MOT was going to be such a BIG NEWS !!

TATE is by deafault my dealership (3 miles from home) as I have a great relationship with the sales department and I really like Calvin (the current SA).
I never said anything bad about MOT and I used them in the past and I truly believe that they are more experienced than TATE which continue to lose good people. #### BIG NEWS is the NEW OWNERSHIP of TATE ####
changes are on the way !!!!!! -

Luna's voice system doesn't work - it never worked- and chances are that MOT has more experience than TATE , maybe . The Clubman is too new for any mechanic and the system is put together in Oxford.

Taking Luna @ MOS is out of question after Edge's experience -

PS: I am writing for MOT hoping that they can figure out while I wait - So far 1 and 1/2 hour late still no news !!!
