It's a very long and involved story, but if you look in my gallery, you will see the parts that were removed. These bolts just don't fall out, nor are they a part that is so insignificant, that a tech forgot to put them back in... The removal of these bolts was the actions of a tech trying to undermine his shift manager. My car was caught in the middle. My husband discovered the missing bolts when he tried to put on my winter wheels last Feb.
Criminal charges were not filed because A) I had no concrete proof of the actual individual's actions and B) The MD State Attorney General's office said I had no recourse, because I wasn't hurt or killed nor was anyone else. Go figure.

Is this thread for real???

OK I am waiting for my next client so I have a few minutes to spare...

Just to clarify: I am not angry at MOT and yesterday experience has not changed my opinion about them. Rose is a doll, we just spoke this am and she informed me that the tech already knew about the real trafic thing which I care very little as I never had it before, so it really doesn't bother me not having it now, the same with the Voice system. However, when I ordered the Clubman one thing I wanted was the Blue Tooth and MINI made me pay for the multi-function steering wheel so on top of the $2,000 for the GPS there was a $250.00 extra. I would like to have what I paid for...

I did not take the car to TATE just because two techs left last week. I could easily take the car to TATE and have the BMW tech look at it and the results were the same: wait for MINI to get my corrected configuration.

The minor dent happened: talked to Rose about and told her that I will try to see if I can buffer it off, if not when I go back they will fix it.. not a big deal... the same with the car wash the back wasn't clean I can still see the dirt on the back doors, again not a big deal.. at least LUNA is cleaner now than before... I did not ask to have the MINI clean it again - I don't care how good is the food and how confortable the chairs are at the dealership I prefer to go on with my day.

I had a loaner available but I did not want to drive back to Towson and I knew that was something that could have being fixed while waiting. Because of the distance when I got to TATE - and I LOVE THIS SERVICE- I have a MINI loaner waiting for me and even if a minor issue I take the loaner and take care of thing I have to do, so the plastic seats at TATE - BMW service is not any better- are a not an issue.

chris I don't know where you get the idea that I was trying to hide my going to MOT, as I said to you over the phone I found strange and quite amusing that this was such a big deal. Maybe if I had gone to MOS .. well ,, maybe..

FYI I bought my GP from a dealer in SC I bought several MINI items from an dealer in CO and MORRISTWON MINI because they gave me a better deal.. I am not married to TATE but I like most of the people I deal with and argued plenty with them back in 2004 and 2005 'til they understood that was in their best interests to serve me well. I continue to go to TATE because it's so freaking convenient to me (3 MILES from my ANNAPOLIS house) and in one way they pamper me (service and sale) ... after all I am a good customer (5 MINIs in 4.5 yrs plus the GP service, not to mention extras as extended warranty and accessories).

Let's get clear on one thing: When we take our MINIs in for service (warranty or not) MINI USA pays the dealer for the service, the techs make money so the SAs, they can care less where we buy the car, service department gets paid for labor !!

MINIUSA cares about SALEs and this department is separate from service and parts. If the cars are not selling anymore because of poor service then, we might see MINI USA do something about it. But don't hold you breath as MINI Sales are up and going strong.

Happy Motoring !!!

If it was " no big deal " then why call it " a big disappointment " and why put " scratch - dent " in BOLD LETTERS ????

- The call to Rose to inform her of the situation wasn't returned.

It was the end of their day and they stayed late as they were slammed ........ I know I was there picking up my car.

The car has only 400 miles and she was washed for the 1st time today at MOT- someone should tell the guy that washes MINI that thew Clubman is 9 inches longer as her back was left pretty dirty.

Again if it was " no big deal " then why bring it up ?????

hmmmmmmm .........

P.S. I love the Panera bagels ..........

My R56 is currently at MoT (has been since 2/26) for a few things, the main one being a clutch chatter. They've replaced the flywheel and clutch assembly so far, and tomorrow they replace the whole transmission in effort to repair the problem. I have no issues at all with them yet. Rose has kept me in the loop very well throughout the whole ordeal (this will be the 3rd time the trans will have been out), and I've had a loaner at my use as well.

People (technicians are people too) are not perfect. Sometimes they make mistakes, however some make more than others. I work in the auto repair industry so I know how it all works. There are good techs and there are bad ones too, just like everything else. The best dealerships are able to hold onto those best techs, some unfortunately don't care. It's good that we have 3 choices in the area, some people aren't that lucky.
