Opinions on aftermarket exhausts

I'm looking at getting one of the following:

1. Borla Race/Sport/Aggressive (how many different names does it go by?)
2. Alta Performance (F/K/A Sportone?)
3. Milltek.

Anyone here at DCMM have any of these installed? I'd like to hear your thoughts on them. Or, suggestions for other systems that you might have.

Milltek, is good. IMO.

or other alternative, if you want the full system, header, cat, catback or just a catback, check out the RMW.

No to confuse the issue, but one of the cars I looked at before I bought Emma (Peel) had a Remus exhaust, which sounded pretty good. No idea about quality or performance, but the sound was nice.

Miltek rocks. Jay has it on Soulfire and it is sooo nice, and we took the resonator out so...it REALLY sounds nice.

Thanks all for the replies. Seems like Milltek is a local favorite!

And as nice as the RMW header/exhaust looks, I think that's a little out of the price range at this point.

Still trying to figure it out, so if anyone else wants to weigh in, feel free.

I have an idea.

It is the breakfast meet @ MINI of Towson next Saturday and I'm pretty sure there will be quite a few of us going with varies of exhaust set up.

We can do some real world exhaust sound test.

I will be there: JCW exhaust w/ some minor mod. There will be MINIs with Borla, Miltek, DINAN, JCW w/ JCW set up and hopefully One Ball join us there as well.

I have the Alta Sportone and the Alta header/cat, love it . Just the right tone and burble. And quiet when you need it to be.

Maxi,

How are you doing? What time is the breakfast? I might go up for that.

Which shop are you using for the install of the exhasut? Also are you buying it on line?

I've had a Milltek, and Alta a Magnaflow and currently the full RMW setup. There's only one I've been pulled over for by VA's finest.

Haven't decided who to have do the install yet. That would be the second question. Also, online purchasing hasn't been decided upon. Depends on whether the installer carries the product I ultimately choose.

I was thinking that I'd head to the next breakfast and talk to folks there, so perhaps if there is enough variety there, we'll be able to do some good sound tests!

And, Chris, you said: "I will be there: JCW exhaust w/ some minor mod." As I recall, you don't have "minor" mods on your vehicle!

For some, they called my mod just "a minor tweak".

For me, it's a full year project. Worth it though.

Please come and join us on the breakfast @ MoT. It will be a blast. You might want to consider joining the run after that breakfast as well.

Looking forward to see you then.

I will definitely try to make it up to MoT. It's been a long time since I've been to an event! I think the last "official" event I went to was the Annual Business Meeting. D'oh!

I'm not certain about the run, though. I wanted to head to the Mach V re-opening and talk to them about doing the exhaust work.

might be better to call them before then. that re-opening is going to be full of people and might be hard to get a word with Dan or Mike. Mike is going to fix my RMW fitment issues, hopefully in the next week or so (waiting on 2.5" 16g SS)
