Aesthetic Creations Boot stripes?

Hey everyone, I picked up my Mini the same weekend of the install event and was unable to come and check it out. I was really interested in putting boot stripes on my mini. Nothing crazy, just the same stripes that are on the bonnet. I think it would really complete the car.

Anyway, what has been everyone's experience ordering from their website, and what is the process for installing the stripes? Is it difficult?

Not difficult at all. Just clean the boot, measure out the distance, and install.

Is there an adhesive side? Can it be removed if I make an error which is very possible?

Yes on both. AC will have instructions with your order. It is just like putting on a big sticker, just bigger and stickier

Yep - stripes are adhesive backed. If you position them lightly at first, you can reposition if necessary. I personally use the "wet" method (with a sprayer of mild soap solution) to enable maximum ability to reposition them until they're just right. Search "how to install stripes" and you should find some good how-to threads.

Here you go, it's a Sticky thread on the mod forum:

And I prefer the dry-install method. Less messy and just as easy, IMO. Just follow ImagoX's instructions. I used them and.....

That's what I mean. The right stripe on Dr. Evil is a little crooked.

Your eyes are a little crooked !!

Might look off on the photo but in person, those came out perfectly. However, the left stripe on Bergey is a little uneven on the bottom... you didn't notice that ?!?

Sorry to ChiliPepperJet for baiting - and to the OP for inciting a banter storm.

PepperRedJetWhiteChiliBlack didn't mind the baiting... all in good fun.

And the OP should be happy... we are making his thread entertaining. Or are we.

It is entertaining. Thanks for the replies and pictures. I just found out how much MoS charges for the stripes. They want $250 to do it. I think I'll pay 65 and do it myself.

Ok just ordered my boot stripes from AS. I hope they get here in less than2-3 weeks but if not, it's ok.

Quick question, have you taken your car to an automatic car wash after the stripe install? I prefer to wash by hand, but with the water restrictions in VA I've been forced to the auto wash.

None of my MINIs have or will ever be in an automatic car wash.

Who is MoS's installer?

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting boot stripes (should have gotten them at the same time I got the bonnet stripes-- :impatient) to go with my customized bonnet stripes (see gallery). Does anyone know who is MoS's installer, or can recommend some other good installer around here?

Thanks!

I don't know who the installer is, but that was the price I was quoted by my MA.

I have taken my Mini, post stripe install, to the Mr. Wash near me. I have had no issues. The rocks the trucks in front of me kick up cause more issues than the automatic car wash.

I ordered my boot stripes from AE about a week and a half ago and they came last Friday. I haven't put them on yet, though.

I can't believe MoS wanted $250 to put them on!! That's crazy!

I finally got my boot stripes installed. They shipped from AC right on time and were very high quality. Took me about an hour, most of the time was spent making sure the stripes were straight and evenly spaced. Here they are:

They turned out very nice.

I may have to order black boot stripes for Otto.
