You can mix background colors within an order if that's what you-- and the powers that be-- decide. Not a problem at all!

Life has happend, that's what! Sorry guys, I have been REALLLLY busy. Plus, I have only heard from two people on the board... And as of right now, I am not going to do black backgrounds. TOOO much to worry about at this moment. If we do them, they will look like the current design.

 

I'd like to see them made and be included in the welcome package instead of the DCMM decal. :-)

I'd like to purchase one each if they are available in more than one color background. If they only are made in one color, my preference would be a black background.

Could a member of the club take the lead in this or does it have to be a Board Member? A simple telephone or email poll of the board for approval to use the logo and authorize the fronting of the money to order would be all thats required, eh? Take the load off of Mininurse. We shouldn't expect her to do everything.

Thanks Peter, but since it is a product that the CLUB is planning on selling with the CLUB's logo, the board has to approve before ANYONE does anything with it. Along those lines, yes an email has gone out..That is why my response was that I only heard back from 2 board members. Because we are planning on selling these, I felt that the board needed to be involved, ESPECIALLY since it is the club logo and...etc...you get the idea.

I didn't TAKE OVER as Jeremy so wonderfully put it. I took it to the board to see if they approve and am still waiting for that. I also have taken it to the two vendors I know make grille badges and have samples of both for the BOARD to decide which vendor to use. This is something that the board needs to approve no matter who heads it up. Emails have been re-sent.

Sorry this isn't jumping out of the box, but like I said, LIFE has, well, it is life, and no mine doesn't entirely revolve around DCMM, although it sure does seem to!

As for the backgrounds, NO..I repeat NO, the first batch will NOT be in different colors. PLEASE stop asking for black ones!! If this is popular, which, yes it does seem to be, we can do more batches (and this time won't be as expensive as the flags nor will it fade with the first rain!) of colored backgrounds, but please note, each time we change the design, there may be a fee for changing the colors for the printer. So, therefore like I siad, the first batch will be with a white background. That's IT.

As for putting them in the welcome kits, again, for the board to decide since these are not free items, we have to purchase them. I would love to see them there too, but, we have to think how much the welcome kits will be costing the club, again, like I said, something for the board to decide. And I am hoping that things will get rolling on it soon. But I can't make people answer their emails, I can only make requests.

 

I just didn't expect you to have to do the "legwork" on gettign these produced.

I was thinking about these as a preorder "special" purchase along the lines of Dragon T-Shirts or the Flags. I'd even be willing to go to a slightly higher priced vendor who can produce them with multiple colored backgrounds.

I'd also be willing to email those Board Members who seem to be less motivated to participate in Club matters than they indicated when they ran for election. Since all we need is a go-ahead to have them made.... The artwork already exists!

You know what, if the board approves this idea than I think MINInurse should let Jeremy1026 do this since he is so willing. That is one less thing MINInurse has to.

It'll happen. The board has lives out side the club, most of which involves full time jobs. It takes time to get things done. Believe me, I know.

On the subject of adding grill badges to new member packets. Bad idea. They're heavy, which will jack up the mailing costs. Not to mention the cost of the packet itself.
