It'll happen. The board has lives out side the club, most of which involves full time jobs. It takes time to get things done. Believe me, I know.
Any help is always appreciated.
On the subject of adding grill badges to new member packets. Bad idea. They're heavy, which will jack up the mailing costs. Not to mention the cost of the packet itself.

Hey! I did'nt say anything bad about anyone...... I merely commented as a CLUB MEMBER about the fact that with the exception of MININURSE, JUSTJAY and the two other Board members who responded to MININURSE's inquiry by email, that this issue, now 7 weeks old, is something that will be revenue neutral to the club, and is rotting on the vine because a few board members won't reply by email!?
This started as an initiative by the members...... NOT as a demand on the Boards time!
If so, that'd be even more sad (that they're the only one's participating, not that they meet nightly!)
Put me down for a badge, magnetic preferred.
This will get done people, like Katie said, we all have lives outside of the club, and since this IS summer, and people like to take vacations in the summer....
HARDY HAR HAR HAR. Jay and I don't meet nightly as a matter of fact
I work three nights a week!
And I wasn't including him nor I in the response of the email (he didn't respond to it
)
Details are being worked out. I will let you know what the results/answers are and will have information for you when I do. Please be patient!
Sending emails to the other board members won't help. We are already discussing it.

We are waiting to hear about selling things and being a non profit org...Patience! We want to make sure that EVERYTHING is done by the book so we don't get our hands slapped or something. It is all new to us, and it seems pretty complicated so Sherill is reseaching what we need to do.
I promise you all, once we get the answer and figure out what to do, we will go ahead with this.

A non profit organization - as DCMM- might sell items (you need to to collect DC sales taxes for any thing sold and delivered in DC) but must pay INCOME tax of the NET Profits on the sales.
so in the tax return the equation is SALES- CG0S= Gross Profits - Expenses incurred in order to sell item(s) = NET PROFIT club has to pay income tax of the final number.
therefore, if the club is selling badges at the actual cost (plus a reasonable overhead expensescost) @ the end of the year doesn't have to pay anything in Income taxes.
The fundraising idea doesn't not apply because:
1) DCMM is not a 501 (c) 3 organization
2) even in a 501 (c ) fundraising has to be with the scope of the organization itself.
Finally DCMM has other stuff for sale .. how do you account for those sales? The badges are not different than the t-shirtsand/or clings..

Count us in 4 2. I like the magnetic because I already have the grill holder.
Missed you at the Cooper Winery Run MiniNurse. Quite a nice turnout. Is there going to be another Ingleside run this year????????

There's always that 10% no matter what.
Have you heard about anyone running the roads in Southern Maryland from our DCMM?
Someone saw a group running down Maypole Road towards Leonardtown.
NICE Road!! It isn't the Dragon, but it is still nice and close to home.

I guess we did miss you guys.
Fredericksburg is getting to be a bear to get through.
We bought some wine from the other winery also. It was nice to have another winery represented, although Jacque and gang make some great wine.

We just want it to be all good.
