Arrived - Pre-Order your DCMM Grille Badge - $10.00
UPDATE - Thanks for your patience to all that have ordered. Unfortunately this is turning into a saga resembling our Secretary Edge's DPSM upgrade. We sent payment to Jeffrey of MotorSwag.com on 21 September 2007. We have not heard from him on status of completion.
Stacy our VP had heard that he was in Calif fighting forest fires causing our delay in the badges. We've ordered a quantity of 100. I've left him a message to contact me this evening - allow me a few days to hear back from him.
If I don't hear from him, I will re-order badges with a more reliable badge vendor and we'll hopefully have a surplus of badges at some point.
Again, thanks for your patience, I'll keep you posted on here.

This is a ridiculous and irresponsible post!
The post from another forum is in the next post explaining the entire "saga" which began in JULY with me offering to make these a quote in AUGUST...then an order was finally placed in September.

Hey Jeff,
I've been out of work for a year.... but I paid for my badge months ago... does that mean you feel bad for me? How about a discount for unemployed people?
Reply: No, I don't feel bad for you unless you are disabled. But since you ask, I recommend that you either get retrained for a new job or move to an area where there is work for you.
They were ordered months ago...... I'm empathetic for you, but I have no sympathy for the situation you've put yourself in.
Reply: Thanks.
The order for 100 badges for the DCMM represents a whole lot of people waiting with no recourse.
Reply: You did not order those from me, but obviously you have chosen your own recourse to make a private order fodder for worldwide public scrutiny. The badges were ordered by your club and resold to you at a price that was set by your club. Although I only owe explanation to Kurt and Stacey, the following time line represents the DCMM custom badge order:
Sometime in August: I PM'd a hard quote to Stacey with a production time line of 10 business days from final art approval and that the process would begin when the order was paid for. I informed Stacey that print-ready art would need to be provided by the club in order to stay on that time line and to honor the super low price I quoted.
Sept. 21- Badges ordered by Stacey. I was informed that Kurt would be responsible for payment.

Hi
Need a Billing Address/phone or the Invoice. Kurts ?
Also need phone no. for UPS shipping to you.
And... to whom do I send the proof to for approval?
Last thing. There are some edits to be made in the art (for clarity purposes) because we are printing at approx 3" , [the artist]'s art contains a lot of extraneous (not visible in JPEG) lines that make things a little funky at that size. I will be removing these. Best just to let me send the sample or revised art in JPEG and not raise this issue with the "committee" as I'm sure it will delay things.
For the future, X's art is not print ready. He must convert all "strokes" to "outlines" as I am printing from a vector file on a printer that requires "trimmed" vectors. Also, all non-printing layers must be deleted. I've spent about 1.5 hours on this already, but will not charge. Should we go to clings and additional files come from [the artist] they'll have to be prepped to avoid a set-up charge. No worries, this time.
I will resend now without art info and attach invoice...
Cheers,
Jeff

Hi
I made made 2 versions:
1) White b.g. as requested. Made some tiny detail changes for appearance's sake. Not mandatory, but I like it.
2) A dark background as another option and change in glass windows. It's dark blue but I don't like the blue that came out. Should be more midnight blue and I can achieve this. Please forward your comments on receipt.
Thanks
Jeff

Oct 13- Request for change in original Art and colors by DCMM. Lines in the Capitol are too thick, making the wings muddy against the Capitol [edit --this comment is about the original art as it was sent to me. When the new "darker" blue was requested, the above result made the design...not so good.

Looking again, it seems I can make the lines in the wings thinner, but not the building (as they are not "lines" they are "shapes.")
Will that work for you? [answer was "yes."]
Meanwhile...printer's workload has increased [-edit--since AUGUST/september] and production is delayed for a bit . Then the badge pieces parts are complete and read on November 14 )30 calendar days-18 working days (8 days late now) -- however, the cut of the circle is not all the way around and assembly is not possible without imperfections.. 1 day spent attempting to make it work...not good... sh** happens--solution? [ edit--I did not email Stacey about this until I had a new ship date--I had emailed her saying that the assembly was taking longer than expected.]
REPRINT/RECUT all 100 badges.
This was completed on November 23 (17 calendar days late now-how many working days?) on the Thanksgiving holiday. Rec'd by MotorSwag Nov. 26 ish........... Assembly begins...again.

I too ordered from Jeff and it took several months to get two badges
I sent many emails and got automated messages
and then several times Jeff replied that the items had been sent
when they had not
Motorswag has some cool stuff, but this MINI owner will not be ordering anything from Jeff anytime soon.........

I realize that there were many things going on out there (Dog, fires, etc) If he had been honest and said "Hey I'm really overloaded and it might be a couple of months" rather than feeding me BS, I might have been a little more understanding
Mike

Okay Kurt,
This is a ridiculous and irresponsible post!
I was not fighting forest fires and never said I was. Perhaps you could have waited the "few days" you mentioned before making a post like this?
The post from another forum is in the next post explaining the entire "saga" which began in JULY with me offering to make these a quote in AUGUST...then an order was finally placed in September.

I don't think I said anything inflammatory about your inaction, and I apologize if I said anything that you feel slighted you or your business.
Understood.. and I am taking off my DCMM Moderator, and NAM Moderator hats to say this - as having run my own business I would just ask that you take seriously the service that you offer the MINI community and realize that your actions do have impact - as do mine. Inaction (as evidenced by the posts on here by MINI community) do your business more harm then good.
I don't think I said anything inflammatory about your inaction, and I apologize if I said anything that you feel slighted you or your business.

Please read the "saga" again. This thread is about your order, no?
It appears that although I was about 2 weeks "late" with your order, that design by committee doesn't work, but it is D.C after all
As far as my business goes (and my service the rest of the MINI Community) that's being addressed quite adequately --now-- --to some peoples' satisfaction and --not so to others. I am the first to admit that service has been crappy of late but that DOES NOT apply to your order.
I don't think you can take off your "hats" and neither can I.
As a NAM Moderator , your responsibility is to tell the truth...no?
I can post ALL the emails , if you like...just say the word.
Some acknowledgment of the reality of this order and the part that DCMM played would be appreciated. That's all I'm asking. I don't get into pissing matches on this forumm anymore.. it's a waste of time and energy that I really need to focus elsewhere as you might guess.
Enjoy your badges in good health.
