Why Do you need 4 spark plugs

yuck yuck yuck.... well driving home from work guess what happened to my MCS. I blew a plug. boy does it sound bad running on 3 cylinders. Could not find the plug so I was really baffled as to why it would just blow off like that.
MINI of Sterling (they are always good for me down there). Took my MCS and just called me and said they can not see any probs with the piston / cylinder when they inspected it. What they are doing is to re tap out the plug thread and replace the missing plug (and the other 3 too I hope). They said they have never know about this issue and have never seen this before.

They are working on it over night and I should get it back tomorrow.....

Same thing happened to me. I was accelerating hard though and then a loud "POP." The dealer is not covering it because i have mods. Of course, according to them, it is a mod related incident.

Do you have aftermarket plugs, particularly Denso Iridiums?

Factory plugs in a factory head does not really really relate to mods with regards to failure. Magnussen Moss <sp?> act says they have to prove it. Though making them do so is the hard part.

Nope they are MINI factory plugs..The M o S Tech said he didnt think it was caused by the accident as there should have been no reason to of taken the plugs out because of the accident. After this little incident I will be checking my Plug tention monthly from now on.

Well thanks to MINI of Sterling they fixed it over night. Re tapped out the thread , put a new plug in and tested.

I was thinking over night, I bet you the buggers that fixed my car after the accident, over tightened the plug's ... there is no way to prove it of course Grrrrrrr annoying that it could of been something like that. I will go back and pick up my MCS this morning
