Calling all Silk Green Owners - It's time to rise up and show our pride

Ok so anyone can join up - but really - SiG Owners we can now show our pride in our color/colour (for whichever side of the pond you're on). I'm not associated with CafePress.com but have been trying to get Silk Green added to the list of owner club options on the site. I know I'm not a SiG owner, but I have the same problem with my color Mini.
I just made my own badge......
Take out the Hello Kitty, and Viola! Solid Gold (SG) Owners Club

If you wanted, I could make one for you in Silk green and email you the artwork if you wanted to have something printed up.

 

Miss KittyMini, check out the same link - they added the Solid Gold owners badge as well - also Velvet Red too!

Scarce colors UNITE! ah ah deep breath - it's only a tee-shirt, or a Coffee Mug, or a CLOCK or a .... deep breath they are all there!

When was your color offered? As far as I know, the Solid Gold was only offered for '03 on non S Minis.

 

Silk Green was offered up to 03, I know because it was our first choice and we couldn't get it for our 04.

I though Solid Gold was only for 06, I didn't know they'd offered it earlier.

Not a problem - all scarce / discontinued colors need to stick together - otherwise we will all be discontinued ha ha ha

 

Silk Green, Solid Gold and Velvet Red were all short run colors that were only avalable as a Cooper and I think for only six months each. Solid Gold was also available as a Cooper Cabrio. All three are fantastic colors and are very rare! When you consider the ratio of Coopers to S's is already low, the numbers on those three colors must be extremely low. Glad to get those colors in there for you folks. And thanks, as always, to the great COOPERation!

 

Another rare color that I looooooove... Purple Haze.

And don't get me started on the need to bring back Jet Black.

Post lots of pics in this thread, please. We love to see photos of those rare MINIs.

That's sweet !! And even though you can only see the passenger side rear of the PH, I appreciate that, too !

Not sure... here's a not-so-clear pic from behind. I do have a little spoiler.

 

Doesn't appear to be an aero kit bumper. But then again, I don't recall seeing another quite like that one... with the wide, black strip across the entire length of the bumper. Must have been an optional bumper that model year (??).

That wide strip was standard in chrome, I believe. That must be a custom blackout mod.

 

Cool, I find out more and more cool stuff about my Mini every time I am on here
Everything came on Nugget when I bought him last year... including the BSA rims and Avon tyres.
Oh, the euro plate on the front was my doing
He is stock at the moment... but I have mod goodies on the way.

But I wouldn't dare post any pics of my MINIs in this thread. It's for the rare colored MINIs !!

I'll have to update my gallery with some of my favorite pics, now that I think about it.

 

I like Purple Haze, that was Quentin's colour. I would have got another if they'd still offer it.

PH was a Cooper-S only colour in the US, but I recently found the Canadians could get it on a Cooper.
