which is best exhaust for 2011 R60.

the oem 2-1/4 inch exhaust is very restrictive at all the welds from the resonator forward

examination by cutting has shown the id is reduced to 2 inches at the welds, some have even seen 1-7/8 at the welds!

so you want a downpipe back system that is 2-1/2 inch

i got a milltek downpipe back system and picked up 5 car lengths over another cm all4 identical to mine in a 3rd gear rollon from 1500-4500 rpm ... about 25-65 mph

we did a rollon to eliminate the driver skill from the equation and stopped at 4500 rpm because the other driver did not want to go any faster ... go figure

5 car lengths is a HUGE gain over that speed range

the milltek was the only mod on my all4 and no tune to the ecu

there are other dp back 2.5 inch systems out there but i can only speak to the milltek

as to sound, it is lower pitched and louder, but not so loud as to **** off the neighbors ... my 75 year old neighbor lady says my car "sounds like a proper car" lol

I catless OEM 2.25" exhaust handled my stage 3, bigger turbo R56 just fine. I thought a 3" would be better, but I only gained 1HP. Spend your money on a downpipe and remove the 2nd cat.

The milltek sounds great and one of the few systems for the Countryman All4. Thanks for the review.

I jut got the jcw mid pipe and muffler installed....its like 10% difference..im in the process of getting the catless milltek downpipe.. I wanted to remove the resonator but I'll void my warranty. Only have a year and half left on the warranty so it will be coming off soon.. any suggestions as to what else I can do to the car that doesn't involve removing the resonator or converter for now....

You will only void the warranty on the part you remove. Not the whole car Warranty.

what goes in place of that

I like the sound but it has to be in sport mode and running hot or else it's hardly a difference from stock..the mini dealership cleared up for me exactly what my "warranty" covers.. I'm expecting a good result from removing my resonator and adding my milltek catless downpipe.. I'm not sure exactly how that works though when the resonator is removed, is it replaced with another pipe ?? Can anyone who has removed there resonator recommend a replacement..also would really appreciate a recommendation for anyone who specializes in tuning minis in Chicago illinois...

The non resonated is replaced by a straight pipe.

Whatever shop you go to will cut a pipe and simply fit it inplace of the resonator, its made to order per say. You could do it yourself, but it wont be as nice as if it was welded in as opposed to clamped on, unless you know how to weld, then its a different story.
