The 35 offset with 8.5" width works, but it sticks out just a bit past the fenders...

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...=gnr-img-album

And the 35 series tires are actually smaller diameter than stock. They're too small for the wheel openings (in my opinion) and leave a big gap even though he has lowering springs. If it were my car I'd replace them with 40 series tires when these wear out...

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-19-tires.html

I like his 4" exhaust tips, I think I need to get some of those.

Anyone have a non-photoshopped pic of an All4 with NM springs and NM wheels? Thanks,

Mac's got some new shoes

So I pulled the trigger!
NM 1.6 springs
19 x 8.5 wheels with +35 offset
New! Toyo Proxes 4+ Plus 245/40/19!!

Ya I love the UHP All Seasons! Was going with the summer tires, but then these came out and wow!

I only had a chance to take 1 quick pic before picking her up last night. Will post more later!

That looks awesome, dude. Loving the look. I am about the pull the trigger myself, just been too busy with work.

What wheels did you end up going with?

I think they were MHT's?? I don't know.. They are a lightweight powder coated mesh style wheel in a 19. Exactly what I wanted!!

FYI, go with the new Toyo Proxes 4 Plus!! They are the best tire I have ever had!! I have had about 30 sets of tires both off road and on road, they are the perfect blend between real world application daily spirited driving! With a tread life of 560 Im looking to maybe get 60K+ miles out of them! BTW, Their warranty is already 55k!

Nice! Giving me something to think about. Did I read right that the 245/40/19 tire is only 22.3 lbs?

http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/pr...l-season-tires

If so, that's ~3 lbs. less than the Michelin PSS's.

Yes!! Some of their info is conflicting though. My tires say on the website 25.2 when they are really 26.2.

Yes only 22.3 lbs and 100% accurate too! but remember these are UHP all season not just a sticky summer tire!

Thanks for the pic. I've been looking for just that set-up. Now do I go Black or Gunmetal? hmm.

I'm confused! Are you saying the Toyo stats are accurate or not?

rubbing where? rim width on spring? inner sidewall on spring/perch? or outer tire on arch?
You have 19x8.5 ET35 245/40/19 w/ MNE springs

anyone running a 225/45-19? A slightly beefier tire.
its a -3.9% difference. which may make speedo accurate reads 60mph when its 62.9mph

looking to fill the wheel well since the springs do eliminate the gap. This maintains the 4" sidewall(that the factory 18'ss pec too)

*Ive got the Wheel App Plus on my iph as well.

Our car came with the 17s and the overall diameter is a bit small, it needed to be a bit larger to fill the wheel openings for a better look.

The 225/45/19 would be even larger diameter than my 245/40/19 but it might be taking it a bit too far, it would probably rub the plastic fender liner on big bumps if you're lowered. I can't see the advantage of that size... the diameter is a rubbing risk, and it's narrower than the 225 for less traction. The only upside is better ride quality, but you're trading traction to get it.

Mine also was equipped w/ the 17 (A/S for snow use).
I live in the NY metro area, so the roads suck!
I like the look of the meatier tire & it will probably fil the gap nicely. Even w/ springs & 19's, there is a decent gap.
I was thinking 225 on a 7.5-8'wide rim.
The narrower tire 'may' have less rolling resistance. With AWD & 181hp, I dont think 225x4 will be a traction issue. Although 245x4 may contribute to hydroplaning (esp. compared to the 17's)

* I'm not looking for balloon tires, the 225/40 has the same 4" sidewall as the 17's.

Got it, I'm used to dry weather 95% of the year so my thinking is based on that. It sounds like your situation is different and you've got it figured out for your needs.

Earlier frstrtdmac said his rubs on the rear and you asked where. On ours I only heard it scrape once; on a huge dip at high speed. When I looked it over I can see where it barely rubbed the inside edge of the plastic wheel arch thing when the suspension bottomed out. His wheel offset is 7mm less than mine (everything else is equal) so his rubs more since his tires stick out farther. It's just a plastic piece so it will quickly wear down and clearance itself.

Greg, where do you come out on the lower-control arm issue? It sounds like the NM springs may contribute to uneven tire wear and/or additional rubbing with the stock LCAs due to an inability to get the proper camber.

What do you think?

I kind of retired over a year ago (that's why I'm online too much now!) and I've been back by the dealer where I used to work a few times so far to mess with my Hyundai, because the suspension is really modified... but I haven't had a chance yet to bring the R60 by there and check it on the alignment rack. So, I don't know how much the camber changed after putting the springs on. I'm not really worried about it, I'm sure the camber is little more negative than it was at stock height, but it looks fine by eyeballing it. I'll probably get a chance to bring it by and put it on the alignment rack one day soon when my wife doesn't need the car, because I want to set the toe, which is probably a bit off since lowering it. But as far as camber, as long as it isn't more than -1.5* (which it doesn't look like it is by eye) then I'm not going to worry about it.

Greg are the silver edges polished?
Yes, they are "almost" polished, by that I mean not fully polished to the point that it looks like chrome, but more shiny than bare, natural aluminum. And there is a clear coat over it. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the area that isn't the outer face is a light grey color.

Im rubbing on the outside of the tire in the rear only. Going to do a small spacer if the LCA's don't solve the problem.

Probably??!? I still live in the OC.. I fly back and forth fyi. These Toyo proxes 4+ are the bomb though. Reguardless if its seattle or oc!

As for the rear, the LCA issue is what Im thinking or.. I have an all4s. Judging from the pictures you have and the pictures I have, My rear seems to squat more. Also my tires are 26.7" dia I don't know if that is the issue too?
My cam is -2.9 deg so we will see!
