Has the club folded it's tent and just given up? Or, is everyone just too busy, or asleep at the wheel?
I really had high hopes that someone would show for the Fall Color Run out of Monterey, VA. Nearly the whole run was in Pocahontas Co., WV! I understand thats its a long way from Charleston/Huntington to this area. Thats the reason, I've never joined you for a run. But to see no activity at all is very disappointing.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Have a Merry Christmas! Maybe 2010 will be a better year for motoring.

I'm still alive, just laying low through winter.. I guess everyone is. Winter has been pretty rough this year, I've been thinking about rigging up a blade attachment for my new snowplow

Ahh, can't wait to put the summer wheels back on..

Looks like I'm not the only one "plowing snow" with the Mini. Its interesting the looks I get as I drive over Cheat Mountain. Anxiously awaiting some nice weather, as is everyone else.
Hey Guys,
If y'all aren't doing anything this Saturday, April 17th, HR MINI is having our Spring Fling. We start at the top of the Blue Ridge Parkway at exit 99 on I 64, drive down to Glasgow, Va, up to Buena Vista for lunch, over to the Rockbridge County SPCA for a donation drop off in Lexington then up to Staunton for a ice cream at Wright's Dairy Rite. Wheelie's are awesome.
Then Sunday, DC Metro MINI's has their Spring Fling through the hills of MD & northern Va. We'd love to have some of y'all make either or both events!
We've also talked about doing something in WV later this summer and we'll be back in Monterey for the Fall Colors Run again this year. And J.P., if ya liked last year, I think you'll LOVE this years runs!

We just returned from the Blue Ridge Parkway Tour. An event of the Tar Heel Minis. 3 days and about 47 Minis from 10 states. It was a lot of fun and quite a sight to see that many Minis motoring through the twisties!
I was told that the group out of Roanoke, VA, is planning a run in the "Lewisburg area". She said she would contact me with the information when and if it happens. I'll pass the info on to you.
October 16-17, the Hampton Roads Club Mini is planning another Fall Color run from Monterey, VA, (Check their website). Last year most of the run was in WV. Don't know about this year. It was a lot of fun with nice people, as was the BRPT.

Oh yes, the twisties of WV will be well visited again this year. There's just some thing about the roads in the Mountaineer state that beckons MINI's! If need be, I'll help y'all plan something out your way. I don't need much of a reason to head west!
Minis in Elkins?
a couple weeks ago there were 20 or so minis parked in downtown Elkins. i never saw them but several of my patients asked me what was going on and I didn't know. Hope to go on some drives next year!

There were 27 by my count. We were eating lunch @ CJ Maggies. The Hampton Roads Club Mini was having its annual Fall Colors Run. We started in Monterey, VA, drove to Sugar Grove, WV, then Brandywine, then Franklin, Seneca Rocks and Elkins via Harman. After lunch we returned to Monterey via Beverly, Huttonsville, Durbin and Thornwood. Great weather and great driving. Most of the cars were from VA, but there were some from MD and two from NC. We were the only car from WV. On Sunday we headed to McDowell, Va, then over to Rt.. 39, on a beautiful road that followed a river with great twisties, then I don't know where, but we did a short jaunt on the Blue Ridge Parkway, before returning to Lexington, VA for a great lunch. After lunch everyone headed home. everyone headed home. It was a superb weekend.
